In defence of the Cops, all they were doing was reviewing a new document released to them, the decision not to continue with a UK police investigation had been made yonks ago, the so called new evidence from the gold digger and her team of parasitic lawyers didn't change that earlier decision. Now please don't misunderstand me here, Prince Andrew is a loathsome and sweaty individual and if not guilty here there will be plenty of skeletons in his closet, however I think that this case is somewhat odd.

The EU is suffering some more uncomfortable questions from member states. Poland's relations with the EU went from bad to worse on Oct 7 when its Constitutional Tribunal ruled that elements of EU law were incompatible with the Polish constitution. 27 people dead; driven by the attractive idea of living a better life in Britain, they choose to take a huge risk in the hands of criminals to make a dangerous crossing. As more people decide to take that risk, the fatality rate will increase…but it has been so surprisingly low so far, that this tragedy has an impact. Whilst I do have a degree of sadness that this has happened, they understood it was a risk when they took it. What I find more uncomfortable is the governments of France (& the EU) and the UK will happily point fingers for blame, rather than find an effective solution/deterrent. Yes a very sad incident. Not sure how you fix it though. Very difficult to identify real asylum seekers from the economic migrants. This with lack of cooperation between the UK and EU and therefore we end up with the current situation in the channel.
People will naturally gravitate towards “better” societies where their families can live better lives in terms of freedom and economics. It has always happened and it always will, particularly when large parts of the world are despotic and modern technology is making the distances and challenges involved seem somehow more manageable. Those of us fortunate enough to be citizens of wealthy democracies face the conundrum: do we follow the natural humanitarian instinct to help or do we pull up the drawbridge/build an impenetrable wall? Whichever stance you take, I suspect we would all accept that it isn’t possible to apply a hard and fast rule.
It would seem to me that the only solution is to remove the attraction of coming to the UK. I could suggest a few ways of doing that but how a government of today could do it is the problem.
I think a really good start would be to target the profit mongering tw@s that prey on this situation. If they could identify and permanently “eradicate” all the players from bosses to grunts in the trafficking scene… and work from there!
How do you get the French to co-operate though ? They obviously want to see all the immigrants pass through to the UK despite what they may say "officially". Winston Churchill would have sent agents over to eradicate the "twats". Can't see anyone doing that these days.
