Probably! They shifted their main construction to *Thailand/Bangladesh/China a good few years ago...the www is littered with comments regarding quality. I'd imagine that if yours are "proper" Made in Britain ones they may well be worth a bob-or-two! *I have no particular issue with things being made elsewhere...if that's the way the business wants to go...but then please reflect that in the price....
The point I was attempting to make is I have been to places like Portsmouth that have cycle lanes that are 3 maybe 4 feet wide that cyclists use with cars buses and lorries going past only just outside the cycle lane so why then do people think that they need to be on the other side of the road to go past. Now as for horses thats a different thing altogether horses can get very skittish so yes very slow and I wide berth. And on a different tak altogether one thing I will not over take and I've travelled a good few miles behind one before is a hearse I've filtered quite a large amount of cars crawling along only to find a hearse up front and I'll pull in behind the hearse and follow it until either it or myself turns off.
Years ago l was told a simple truth-"much wants more"- the likes of Burberry, Barbour et al had profitable UK businesses, but that simply wasn't enough As for tomatoes, a little drop of sunshine my dad called them, and a very good anti-prostate cancer weapon. Reduce them down in a pan and spread on toast drizzled with olive oil. A tasty little breakfast, and you're doing yourself a bit of good to boot
Yes....it does seem that "much wants more".... I'll remember n that. I can't stand "Dragons Den" but when it used to be on in the background what always made me wince was when one of the dragons banged on about 'environment' and the like....then said "we could make more building this in China...."
Totally missing the point that jobs, pensions and taxes are lost here. Resulting in rich Chinese factory owners, economic dominance and a ‘to hell with it’ approach to environmental damage. Oh and stealing foreign intellectual property. Or so I have heard it said… Seems to me that having whole UK communities living in near poverty to save zero off the cost of an item isn’t a strategic investment. Has anyone ever seen the cost of an item fall or the quality of product increase when the manufacture has been off-shored? We should encourage ‘investors’ to support our industry rather than take short terms gains. I’d happily pay a little more for a product if I knew the money was going back into UK R&D, jobs and the like. Edit: This is the rant thread right?!?
And think of the impact on climate change of transporting goods half way round the world in giant ships burning heavy fuel oil just so that some company's shareholders can make bigger profits by manufacturing in the Far East.
Not a rant as such, but have you seen the advert on TV where two reality TV (stars??) have a skip dropped on their heads whilst the woman is cooing at a small dog placed there (apparently) by Anna Friel of Marcella fame. Love it!
My rant today is about scammers. Not online which is always in the news, but real life in your face scams. Last Friday I set of to go to the theatre at Liverpool's Empire theatre. As I got close to the venue and on the approach to the car park a guy ran in front of my car and dropped something on the road, I had no idea what the object was. I had no time to stop despite him waving his hands at me to stop. I continued and entered the car park to park. As I exited the car park this guy approached me and shouted from across the road, accusing me of running over his phone. He was very aggressive and after much ranting at me he eventually asked me for £50 to cover his loss. I obviously told him no chance would I give him anything, to which he said that he knew my car and suggested that if I did not pay he would return and damage the car. I was angry and started to cross the road to confront him, him turned and ran away shouting that he would be back for my car. The whole event was quite disturbing and I must admit I did wonder through the show whether I would be returning to find my car vandilised. Luckly in the end the car was fine, but I do wonder how many people would would be intimidated by this kind of scam and pay up. The guy was English and a local lad . If you are in Liverpool look out.
The post office have dropped a parcel off with your name on it at my house. If you transfer me £2.99 I'll give it back to them and they'll give it to you. Thanks
Yet another message on the forum this time from a 25yr old called Emily who wants me to rate her naked photo's. Perhaps the sender mixed up their Triumph's. Reported as spam.
What the feck are these people taking…. They just want to be on the bandwagon for the latest shite hitting the social media and news channels. Yes totally out of touch with reality

I remember doing a job for a pretty big firm which required a bit of site work. I got told to stop standing on my tool box (approx 18" tall) because it didn't have a handrail meanwhile my mate was round the back hanging off the outside of a scaffold at full reach trying to drive screws into cladding about 20' high most of these people in health and safety haven't got a clue!
