No shortage of fuel down here either mate. And hasn't been for days. No panic buyers either. Just people going about their business as normal..
I'd top up the Givi at home before setting out... There's lots of options. Really worried - take the car and have a worry free weekend by the seaside. Fairly worried - take the bike with an extra fuel can like I used to when I had a moped with a 2 litre petrol tank (inc reserve) Slightly worried - take the bike but be prepared to top up on the way there/back and/or do less riding over the weekend Not worried - crack on and and see what happens. As you need the break, go!
Absolutely agree with @Cyborgbot - that option is a win - win; you get to enjoy a much needed break either way, it's just what you do when you get there that differs.

I need to get both the bike and the car topped up to full during the course of this week, and then i can make a decision on Friday morning.
I was touring Scotland on my Firestorm when the fuel thing was on in 2000, a bike whose tank I could empty in about 75 miles if I was “making progress “. If there were queues at the petrol station I’d just look for a pump that nobody could get to and filter my way to it and get a few litres just to keep topped up. Some good advice about your intended trip (some not so, calm down girls) I hope you manage to get away and enjoy it.
Well, the good news is that I finally managed to get some fuel - in the car, though, not the bike. It now has a 380 mile range (the return journey to Whitstable is 160 miles or thereabouts) so if I do go by car I won't have a worry in terms of getting around for a couple of days as well. I think I'll see how things pan out between now and Friday, and if the problems seem more or less to be over I'll risk it on the bike. If it's still more touch and go than I'm comfortable with, though, I'll leave the beast at home and cage it down there!
Towbar? Bike trailer? Or drive and get one of those bike delivery companies to take the bike to/from?

You should be ok on the bike fella… for a well needed break, paying a couple of more quid on a motorway services forecourt just before you get there will give you ease of mind. In The South Lakes, touch wood, the “crisis” has settled down… so whip your beast out of its cage and enjoy showing it off on the Kentish seaside!!!
Lets face it you only have a small tank and there really is no shortage its just the tankers getting it there, the army are on the case now so go and have a good ride around Kent and have a blast!

Well, I did wonder if I should go by car instead right up until yesterday morning, but having had an ACF-50 treatment and ceramic coating from my local valet specialist first thing I thought it would be rude not to take the beast. Anyway, 20 miles from Whitstable I managed to fill the tank again, and the dash is telling me I now have 240 miles worth of fuel. That means I can ride around without stressing, at least, as it’s only an 80 mile trip home. I’ll post a thread on the trip when I get back. Suffice it to say that the bike was impeccable, though.
That's great! A lot of worry and stress for nothing in the end. Looking forwards to seeing some photos, I love Kent, Dungeness in particular.
