I know the other crowd check in here at times to gauge the water. I've not seen evidence that @OsteKuste has shifted allegiance though.
I put agree - so long as people don’t have one pleasant persona on here and another one belittling us when they flip to the other forum… Slightly disingenuous - possibly.
Ahhh! I'm familiar with those. Here's one from our bird table which had an encounter with some .22 lead..........
@OsteKuste, I agree with all that @Wessa said and really hope that you'll stay an active forum member. I enjoy your contributions and photos. I also agree wholeheartedly with @Smilinjack's take that we who contribute ARE the forum and make it what it is! And change is inevitable. Sometimes it feels for the better for some of us and sometimes it feels for the worse. @DCS900 commented about piss-taking and rule following and both have their places here. There was a point not too long ago when the stated forum rules were stretched thin or ignored altogether by members who seemed to think those rules didn't apply to them. I actually read the rules of the form when I joined. And yes, Mr. Sandi gives me shite for things like that. Regarding piss taking, I happen to enjoy most of it and when I don't I either simply ignore it or piss back. And as a woman on a primarily male – dominated forum there's a lot of piss taking and jokes that would offend an awful lot of women. But as @Dawsy reminded us, a sense of humor (even when it is misspelled!) is vital ingredient of life. And the forum brings a lot of laughs into my life. Additionally, I've learned all sorts of things from forum members. I've shared good times as well as tough ones with forum members. I've gotten to visit wonderful places vicariously through forum members. And I've made friends with forum members. It's a community of folks that I value and care about. And yes, like family, we don't always see eye to eye or get always get along but that's part of life, too.
It's quite short range, barely 12m. We get a steady stream of the blighters after the bird food. That's over a dozen in the last 6 months, just when you think you've got them all another one appears.
This the kind of thing that really shows someone’s true character. I made no specific remarks about someone, just made an observation. I do enjoy what everyone here brings to this forum but we aren’t married. I am on other forums including non bike related ones. I have never and will never engage in juvenile name calling except in light~hearted piss-taking and if this thread is degenerating into this I will ask the mod to remove it and my account.
It's about the culture of the forum, like anywhere else. As the assholes show up, the people that led that "culture" or mood of the site bailed.
One thing I’ve observed on social media over the years, is that people are often if not usually consistently guilty of that which they are inclined to accuse.
Your choice mate, but I have to say that on balance I thought in the main the responses to your original post were supportive and positive. IMO most if not all on here respect that individuals will be part of multiple forums and that is healthy. I hope you hang around, but if not stay lucky and good luck for the future.
