Glad you're enjoying it, Sandy. Off to the high French Alps tomorrow, so hopefully some more nice pics to come.
First call today would be the Col de la Bonette, at 2.715 metres altitude not to be sneezed at. The way up was a trifle murky.. Forward and upwards.. The pinnacle of today was quite literally the Cime de la bonette, at 2.802 metres altitude. The highest paved road in Europe.
Is this why they're called "bug-eyes" the whole front of the bike and my visor are covered with corpses...
Wow, beautiful vistas, Vulpes. But it's pretty clear you are WAY above the tree line today! I found it a bit sad that even at that altitude and in that sweeping beauty there's graffiti to be found.
I then had a choice - continue along the route I did last year, or make a change. I decided on the latter, and popped back into Italy. No pics cos' I was enjoying the riding too much.. the road going back up to France in particular. Awesome. Up the top the view was pretty good.. Then on to the Col de L'Iseran (2.770 metres), which I'd done last year in the oppsite direction. Contrary to last year though I did get the views this time.
Vulpes Absolutely stunning and picturesque. You know i am loving this little jaunt Or should i say our epic travels. Thanks for bring us all along with you. Joe.
To top off a great day I had the pleasure of having drinks and dinner with @Hubaxe (Hubert) who drove out to meet me. An excellent evening with most interesting conversation was had.
Vulpes a long way to meet a Brother but worth every mile. I am just knackered riding as your pillion in my dreams. Joe
Food and friends....and photos of food and friends. Awesome! Food, friends, and bikes--life is good. It's so cool that you and @Hubaxe met up for dinner and drinks. Had you two ever met each other in person prior to this? As @Bikerman said, it's things like this that make this a great forum. And, BTW, I happen to like that "plate" that your dinner is sitting on. Very creative.
Great evening with a top mate. Wim even had snails for dinner .. so french. Enjoy the rest of your trip.
