I keep looking at the glass of wine and it looks like a horse's head through it. Or is it just me Joe.
Vulpes. That figures maybe it was the thought of all that wine. But i get a bit strange around this time and nursey is late tonight. Still love the journey and pictures horse or not. Joe.
The first 70 miles were fairly uneventful today, as I was traversing the Piemontese plains. Lots of corn- and rice (risotto) fields. The middle bit was a bit more interesting, little hills and narrow roads. The last leg was spectacular though. To get into France I had to climb the Col de Lombarde. Very steep, and predominantly single track. Not for the fainthearted or vertiginous! Thoroughly enjoyable though, the summit was reached at 2.350 metres (7.388 feet) 200 miles travelled today.
So as not to disappoint @Sandi T ... Starters prawns with avocado Main course fillet of dorade To finish some nice cheese... Meanwhile speedy happily sleeps out front...
Another great days summary @Vulpes . Stunning pictures and route . Good to see beer on the menu tonight.
Wow, absolutely stunning photos, Vulpes, and an amazing and TWISTY route! Yes, those chickens will definitely have to do without their strips. Lovely view from your dinner table, I must say. As I said, you certainly know how to do a motorcycle trip! I'm enjoying the heck out of your thread.
I have to remember to calculate the time difference in my head when reading your posts, Vulpes. From my vantage point and time zone it seems as if you are enjoying that Leffe Blond at 8:12 AM. Yet more fantastic photos from you--keep 'em coming! We'll all be a bit sad when you arrive back at home.
Mmmmmm, that all looks fabulous, Vulpes! Especially the cheese course. Is that Speedy's glass of white wine on the table in front of him??
