Beautiful! Glad your trip is starting off well, Vulpes. What a terrific view over that glass of wine.
Thanks! Yep, pot luck. I keep riding until I get tired, and then search for a place within 10 miles or so. Never failed yet!
I'm actually looking down at the sycamore-covered patio where I'll have my dinner - looking forward to that!
Luckily for me, KTM has that covered by providing a bottle opener in the standard tool kit those clever Austrians!! Now I must speak to my dealer to see about that credit card
Just for @Sandi T - for starters coconut curry soup with deep fried prawn.. Followed by a properly made steak tartare... The Swiss know how to do that!
So today I left Lenzburg at 7.30, and headed south. My route took me along the "vierwaldstättersee" (four-town-lake) On I went towards the Gotthart pass. That would take me into Italy. At the top I decided to take the old, rather than the new pass down - which was fun as the weather was glorious. It being 90% cobbled wouldn't have been so nice in the wet.
Not sure why 3 of the same photo's appeared in that post, but hey ho. 1 more of the Gotthart: After that it was on to the Nufenen - higher still, and fantasic curves... the chickens will have to do without their strips...
On the way down I decided on a detour - I'd always wanted to see the Belvedere hotel which was featured in 'Dr. No". The actual road (Furkastrasse) is actually dubbed "James Bond street". This where it actually sits... This nicked from the web... I then went back and made my way to Italy via the Simplon pass. Uneventful, but pleasant enough. Nearing my hotel the views were very nice:
Then of course- dinner! As a starter I had octopus with canneloni, followed by tagliatelle with truffel and crayfish, accompanied by a nice bottle of Chardonnay. An absolutely BRILLIANT day! Sadly finished with an awful view...
