Have you seen the new Street triple colour scheme? Come on Triumph! These are getting piss poor I love the 765 but options like these have to be loosing sales, it would sure make me walk away. If you want an RS it seems this and matt black with god awful flourescent yellow patches stuck on are your only options according to the Triumph website. Its good to see the red subframe again I suppose but it doesn't suit being cladded in multi colour grey. I want sexy glossy metallic vivid shiny colours with a deep lush lacquer, mmmmm! This obsession with grays and matt paints in boring colours is getting ridiculous. Maybe I should have put this in rant of the day
Gloss Black should be standard throughout the Triumph range,i think it's a no brainer.you do wonder who picks the colours for them
I'm with you on this. I can't remember where this fashion for matt paintwork started but when it becomes the only option (or one of two), then it's ridiculous. Just for a change I bought a matt black helmet (yes, I fell for it) and wish I hadn't. It's an Arai, so quality shouldn't be in doubt, but after 6 months it has several small stone chips showing. I'm sure my gloss helmets have similar stone chips but they're not obvious. If I was in the market for a new bike, anything in matt wouldn't be on the list. It will be interesting to see how a matt finish stands the test of time, will it wear as well as gloss and will people want a second hand matt bike in 10 years?
Durability wise I don't think there's much difference. Once you get a mark or scratch on matt your pretty much stuck with it though. Even the factory running in stickers leave a square shiny patch on the matt bikes. You can restore and polish gloss and keep it looking nice. Looks far far nicer IMO
Oh dear, I agree the colours are boring but the graphics are terrible! Looks like a cheap Chinese job
10 years ago Triumph just used simple colours, my 2010 Street triple is just gloss red without any daft graphics and looks great to this day. Unless something completely bonkers happens in the future I don't see many of the Triumph range from 2020 standing the test of time on the looks front!
Yes Stafforshire Triumph did the same with 3 or 4 tiger sport bikes earlier this year. Much better looking that the oem colours.
So even some Triumph dealers realise there's an issue here, well done to them. However, I would expect the repainted bikes to cost more, which is a shame but I would choose either of these over the standard colour schemes any time.
