The heat shields on my rocket GT can get really hot,i'm sure if i ever had to wear my light weight waterproof trousers they would melt! Is there any magic material i can stick to the inside of them to make them cooler? some guys have tried exhaust wrap and some other materials but they don't seem to be very effective. i could get the carbon fibre covers which would be better but i think the stainless steel covers looks better.

Dont know Dougie, when I had the scrambler the exhaust was roasting me. Seen people saying removing the cat helps. I cut it out but to be honest I noticed no difference, still roasted my leg. Another layer of thin shiny metal might help but I'd imagine a layer of air between whatever you stick on and the shield itself should help

I'll probably try something like that, maybe put 2 layers on and just stick them around the edges so there is a bit of air between them

Have a look at Allen Millyard video when he building was his V8. He had a similar issue and used the artificial coal from bbqs to stop the heat.
