Heat Shields Too Hot

Dont know Dougie, when I had the scrambler the exhaust was roasting me. Seen people saying removing the cat helps. I cut it out but to be honest I noticed no difference, still roasted my leg. Another layer of thin shiny metal might help but I'd imagine a layer of air between whatever you stick on and the shield itself should help

 

I was expecting some Star Trek quip:

I had a similar issue with my Husaberg where the exhaust runs close to the plastic tank. I stuck some of this stuff to the underside of the tank and a few other areas close to the exhaust and it works well. You could stick some to the back of the heat shield.

Have a look at Allen Millyard video when he building was his V8. He had a similar issue and used the artificial coal from bbqs to stop the heat.
