Is there a comparison web site out there that does CLASSIC multi bike as it’s a bit tedious phoning all companies individually as I my time is more precious than talking to sales to find after 30mins conversation that they’ve not got anywhere near four of my seperate policies combined!??

Yeah that’s what I found over the years. I’m just changing to one modern bike then the rest as classics and I’ve a friend who swears it’s cheaper for him to have a classic policy with just one modern bike

I have always found that it is cheaper to take a multi bike policy, as they include your NCB across the whole insurance policy. When ever I have looked at individual policies your NCB only covers you on the first bike, all of the other bikes are loaded without any discount. This has always been more expensive. If you have taken the hit in the past and built NCB on separate bikes, you may be able to get a better deal.

That's a good point that was lost on me (given that I'm currently thinking about insurance for a second bike).

    That depends on individual insurers.

I have a policy with Kawasaki Insurance for the ZZR and added the Triumph to that policy which came in at £196 FC for both, the Triumph only adding around £50. For some reason, when I asked about adding the Husaberg, now 10 years old and the least valuable, they wanted well over £100 on top!! so I insured that on a seperate policy for £55. Insurance companies can work in mysterious ways, just like the big man upstairs, only not as generous! As with most things, shop around, even if it means time on the phone or trawling Net.

I recommend BeMoto. Managed to get a 2017 GSXR1000R, 2019 Speed twin and a 2021 Ducati Streetfighter V4S for £600. Over £200 cheaper than anywhere else. If you mention 44 teeth ( the YouTubers) you get a discount and reduced excess as well ;)

In answer to the original question, no I don't think that there is a comparison website for Classic motorbike policies.
This is very much a small 'niche' market and the only way to get quotes is to phone around.
I have a classic policy covering 2 bikes with Footman James, I think quite reasonable when you consider the level of cover:- Agreed value, only a £50 excess, I retain the salvage without deduction in the event of total loss claim and no NCD to worry about. The mileage is limited to 3,000 miles over the 2 bikes but that is way more than I cover on the classics anyway.

Might be best to try a few brokers instead of individual insurance companies

I have used BikeSure for last couple of years to cover my three bikes on a multi bike policy. Been very competitive

I use Principal for my Guzzi and Bonneville, reasonably priced and don't get hysterical about all my cosmetic restyling ;)

When you say Classic Multi Bike insurance @Tigcraft do you mean classic bikes you own that are over 15 years old or is it for bikes that look a little like classics that aren't 15 years old yet.
If it’s for bikes 15 years old or older Eric then try Peter James (peterjamesinsurance.co.uk)

I've just stuck with individual policies for my bikes as it works out cheaper (for me). Nuts as it sounds, two of them are with the same Insurance company anyway!

Yes I’ve found that and I’ll think I’ll go down that route again.

I've now got three bikes on a multi-bike policy through what I thought was Bikesure, but the paperwork came with Triumph Insurance on it and it turns out they are part of Adrian Flux.

Anyway, a new problem has arisen, I can't add my son or any named rider onto a multi-bike policy. So the Trident 660 I added a few weeks ago has to come off that policy so he can ride it once he's got his test done next week. So that was £120-odd that I won't get back and he won't be able to ride my Speed Twin either I guess, unless I put that on a separate policy too.

I did complain that I was never told I couldn't add a named rider and she just said, you didn't ask. I was able to add my brother on a policy with LV, a policy that they priced themselves out of, hence my move to Bikesure.

That, and the fact that they don't cover the bikes for theft while on my property and not locked up in the garage. Put them outside in the road, that's fine if they get nicked.
