I’ve never been into Harley’s but I do quite like that.

 

Same here, I actually watched a review on it but to be honest I wouldn't exactly have called it a glowing review. Warm arse, poor rear suspension, lots of false neutrals due to the shape of the pegs amongst other complaints

Here's the review I watched... 2 inches of rear travel I'm not sure any amount of suspension tweaking can compensate for such short travel.

 

I've seen a few reviews of Harley's new Sportster S and they've been a bit mixed. And I've seen this video that you started off this thread with, @Dougie D, and loved the Scottish setting and scenery.

As many of you know, I'm a Harley rider in addition to being a Triumph rider. Over the years, I've had three Dyna models, three touring models (one of which I still have) and one of the new Softail models (which I also still have). I've never had a Sportster but have test ridden a few of them. I'm not the biggest Sportster fan but am a bit sorry to see them go as they've managed to stay in Harley's lineup since 1957.

For me the jury is out on this Sportster S model. I always find it difficult to really get a sense of the appearance and style of a bike from photos and videos and need to see it in person. But the thing that I find to be the real "proof is in the pudding" moment is when I get to test ride a bike. I'm hoping that H-D corporate will put a couple of the Sportster S's on the 18-wheeler "Demo Days" truck when it comes through Tucson this fall so can test ride one.

Relatedly, my friend Larry, who has the new PanAmerican, loves the new engine. He now owns three Harleys and each has a different motor--one has the older Twin Cam, one has the Milwaukee 8, and the PanAm has this new Revolution Max.

 

I've never owned a HD or hankered after one, not really my bag TBH but I'm struggling to understand the "Sport" tag on this bike. I think something may be lost in translation between both sides of the pond. Think of Sport over here and it's ZX10, GSXR, R1 etc. A ZZR1400 (ZX14R), certainly no lightweight, is regarded as a Sports mount Stateside but very much Sport Tourer over here. With the exception of their new Adventure bike, I tend to look on all HD's as Cruisers but then again I'm not a fan so what do I know!

 

Not a fan on harleys myself normally but there’s something about the XR that I like,must be an age thing nearly went to Edinburg Harley to view but that shop has some really poor reviews
