I was toying with the whole "black on black" thing when I got my bike but for now I'm sticking with the factory silver and black(I have the all black tank). I may convert in another couple years, we'll see. I really like the stock look sans license plate holder.

I've seen accounts of the stock aluminum heel guards failing and cracking at the bolt holes. If that happens to me I'll probably switch to these black carbom fiber types.

I looked at the heel guards too as mine are now getting marked but the other stuff is a bit too bling for me and goes away from the original principle IMHO.

I sort of tend to agree although at some point the aluminium guards are going to start to furr up as the anodiz;ing wears so I might take a look then. The chainguard doesn't look too great around the slots looking closely at the images although the other parts look good.

I put the brushed aluminium motone chain guard on which looks ok. I have the same in black unused and still in the packaging if anyone wants to make an offer. They were £50 new.

Bike looks awesome, very smart. Have triumph fixed the squealing brakes?

To the best of my knowledge Triumph never addressed the squealing brakes issue. I was told by another Speed Twin owner to use both the rear and front break...5,000 miles later the squeal is almost non-existent. Perhaps the pads needed to bed in.
