Just back from a 4 day trip to the Isle Of Man, I primarily went for the S100 event, this was well attended with lots of race teams, live bands in the evening and no Covid restrictions whatsoever. Covered just over 500 miles for a very small island it's not to shabby. The speed restriction over the mountain section imposed for the TT fortnight, including the coast road etc etc have been removed, from Ramsey hairpin to the Creg are back to being de restricted. The weather was very warm and sunny for the 4 days. The ferry was exceptionally quiet with only 6 bikes on the way out and about 15 cars , just myself on the return with 6 cars.

Surprised the Manx are letting us in.:scream:
Cracking trip (did you need a test?)

Edit: just checked it out, we're double jabbed, that opens some possibilities, going to be even worse chaos down here in a few weeks.

Hi Col no test required, just proof of having 2 vaccination's, so as you are double jabbed you can go, the process is very easy, download the NHS app, this gives proof of your vaccinations, the Steam Packet website gives you links to then complete the paperwork and e mail to the Manx Government, they respond super quick granting permission to enter, print it off, buy your ticket and on entry it is real easy just show the permission paper and away you go, no queuing, honestly it could not be easier. I am in regular contact with S100 secretary so try to keep up to date, I also e mailed the Manx Health Department some months ago re lifting of restrictions, they have been really helpful and gave me a provisional date for this to happen. Go for it and enjoy a nice holiday.

Yesterday I rode over to Yondermans to meet @andypandy to plan our next trip to Scotland (the boarders) which is in August. I stopped at the Cat & Fiddle which is open again. There were a few bikers about and the weather was brilliant.

Have booked a hotel in Innerleithen for 3 nights. Have created a couple of circa 160 mile ride outs in the boarders.. Thought we would stay in one place this time rather touring every day.. :);)

Sounds good, hope you get good weather and the midges go on holiday for that period :)
Loads of really good roads around there and you’re not too far away from Roslin, home of Roslin Chapel ( Da Vinci Code?) if you’re into that kind of thing.

Rode from Bristol, out to Corsham and back via Bath this morning. I've just de-snorkeled the Twin and fitted a DNA air filter and booster plug and this was the first long-ish run that I've done since. The difference is unbelievable and I'm kicking myself I didn't make the changes sooner. Responsivity and torque is noticeably better. Bought both from George at Tec Parts, and have the x-pipe to fit next which should only do more good things. Happy boy in the sunshine!

Added a TomTom Rider 550 sat nav, on an evotech performance mount. Nifty, and handy for those times when I don't have any signal to use my phone for directions, or for when I'm way off in the back country :)

The evotech mount is pretty cool. It connects to the same bolts that hold the wind screen, and then the sat nav moves up and down along with the wind screen when that's adjusted. No modifications to the bike needed, which I always like.

Jury's still out on the TomTom itself. I'm beginning to think I should've gone the Garmin Zumo route, though. Getting routes with waypoints onto the TomTom is a right pain in the arse.

I saw the two of the smoke drawings he'd done as I crawled my way back down the M5 southbound from Sutton Coldfield late this afternoon. It was a zoo out there - heaven only knows how this many people, cars, campers and visitors are actually going to fit in Devon and Cornwall - and, no doubt, there'll be even more termorra!

GEWIZ created two 'expressionless' smileys and then a smiley mouth as he must've either run out of smoke, or was ordered off by the sky authorities. At least I wasn't on the M5, unlucky my man. I'll be staying home 'termorra' too.
I now only venture out during the week when all the young people go to work. Hardy har har. :expressionless: Over....

Did you try the myroute app? That sends routes to Tomtom really easily.
