    Very exciting!

I have to say I've been looking for something more comfortable than my classic Street triple and tested a Tiger Rally on Wednesday from the top guys at Staffordshire Triumph. I'm absolutely smitten, amazed how much I enjoyed it and it's really gotten under my skin.

I'm just trying to really decide whether I go for the GT or Rally. I'd never take a 13k bike off road, but I really love the looks of the Rally in the green.

    Decisions, decisions......

I had a similar dilemma but opted for the GT. At the end of the day, the vast majority of my riding will be on road but I have the option to hit dirt tracks when I need and the GT is more than up to it :)

This might be a bit of a hijack to this thread but "Northern Bloke", a couple of questions please. Can you still readily adjust the screen position with the Evotec bracket + Garmin in situ? Also, precisely where and how did you pick up a switched feed for the satnav? Thanks. (Getting a GT Pro tomorrow - wahey!)

Hi NorthernBloke and welcome to the friendly forum, did you deal with Royce by any chance, as you say all the staff are really good and very knowledgeable at Youles, I deal with them a lot, top people.

I have just fitted the evotech mounting, Great bit of kit and my Tom Tom can be adjusted easily. I din plugged into the dash power point. I just unplug when not required. I don't want to mess around with canbus wiring.

Could be a plan Tallpaul. I've had a quick exploratory look under the seats, removed the undertrays and found the wire to the USB socket. I tapped into that on my previous bike (Street Twin) and I already have the plug on the end of my satnav lead. Unfortunately, with Canbus wiring it doesn't power the satnav as the power is insufficient (measured at 0.24V). The power socket between the seats, on the side of the bike, would be a good source for a switched feed but there's no space for access to the back of the socket to remove it and add wires. Might need to use your method Tallpaul but I'll plug into that switched one rather than the front one since I've already run the wire to the back of the bike.

All the best to all you new Tiger 900 owners! I'm hoping for a rain free run tomorrow since my dealership to home trip was in pouring rain and strong gusty winds. Not much pleasure in that!

Yes, you can still adjust the screen with the bracket and satnav in place.
I didn't need a switched feed for my Garmin XT as it's a positive and negative connection direct to the battery only. I did pick up a switched feed for my Roadhawk Bullet camera though - the yellow wire to the rear light under the phone charging tray.

    Hi Rustle

Yes, you can still adjust the screen, it's actually easy to grab it at the top, push forward and lift up/push-down.

Youles fitted the bracket for me as well as the TomTom base unit as a part of the deal (I supplied, they fitted). In doing that they (a) left off the screen's adjustment bar but above technique works fine and (b) wired so power supplied when ignition is on & running - I would have preferred just on but it's no issue. I've yet to trace their wiring so can't help I'm afraid.

Just to say, it all works well and no issue :)

    Cheers
    NB

Hi, well I had contacted by email earlier in the year which Dave responded to. I then turned up months later when they re-opened and met Royce who arranged test ride and effectively sold it. The sale was transferred to Dave as my first contact (but I also bought a Vespa GTS 300 from just Royce :)).
Both guys very good to deal with and I'll happily go back to either of them one day on the future.

Oh, and you'll love the bike!!! Still running mine in but it's a fantastic machine, smooth, powerful and well balanced. The quick-shift is stunningly slick. Loving it.

Thanks, NB. I have only ridden just over 300 miles, some solo and some with my wife on the back and it's superb! She loves the comfort and smoothness which reminds her of the GS's we had 5 bikes ago. My satnav is now plugged into the rear socket and works a treat. Thanks for your guidance.
