I agree, but conspiracy theorists don't operate in the world of facts and evidence. (In my days of gainful employment, I sometimes had to appear as an expert witness at public inquiries. Evidence was kind of important.) Here is a good description of the conspiracy mindset that I saved some time ago: View attachment conspiracytheories.jpg
The wife and I got our vaccines as soon as we were able to get them. As with many things in life, one must use a sound mind when deciding what to do. Like many things in life, you have to make a choice that is not ways clear WHAT to do. But please use you BRAIN in making those choices. I have a neighbor who was shooting his mouth off about what hoax this whole virus thing was and how it is all based on some "big conspiracy". Now that a lot of people died in the community from the virus, he has sure gotten quiet. REAL quiet...J.D.
I didn’t necessarily get it for me, I got it so I would feel comfortable around my parents who are 80 and 82. That way some “hero” like you doesn’t put their lives in jeopardy.
I'm relatively young and healthy, chances of dying form covid are practically non existent. Still jumped at the chance to get vaxed if it means the return to normality. I do think the OP is displaying a slightly selfish attitude. But are we not all a bit selfish being bikers!
Good choice. Sure, you might not die from Covid but the post crap that I hear some has picked up is scaring me more than dying. And it seems to affect all ages. Sure, the "light" long term effects such as loosing sense of taste I could prob live with but to wake up having ME or something else along those lines scares me.
A well know anti vaxx covidiot (Serge Rader) just died from covid. And guess what? Stupid voices are talking about "murder" because "he knew too much" Conspis are magic.
Honestly that makes sense. Young in good health, almost zero chance to die from covid. My son for example is in that case. He is not antivax at all, get the flu jab every year since his youngest age (asthma). The vaccination is now proved to reduce the transmission. But that point does not weight a lot for people that are not confident in a new vaccine, or just vaccine in general. It's something I can understand even if I don't share that point of view. Let see in a few months how it goes. I'm afraid the disease will circulate more and more and mathematically younger people will be touched.
Did I get vaccinated? Shit yes. This guy didn't. https://news.yahoo.com/anti-vaxxer-sheriffs-deputy-dies-120803899.html
The thing is that Tuberculosis wiped out millions across the world, until a vaccine was produced. When I was 11 in the late 60’s and went to “Big school” where we could wear long kecks, my whole school year was vaccinated for T.B. I imagine that would have been all schools in Britain. I’ve still got the scar. T.B, in Britain and most countries in the world has been wiped out in humans along with polio which the vaccine came on a sugar lump. With this vaccine COVID will meet the same fate....... Hopefully.
I notice that @LouHela has not passed any comment following the launch of the hand grenade in the first post? Makes me wonder why post in it the first place. For me both the wife and I have had both jabs for all the good reasons posted by others.
Hi Wessa, like a lot on the forum I have had both jabs, I agree with you regarding LouHela, let's hope his immune system has not let him down, or maybe he is holed up in his remote mountain retreat, although it can't be that remote though as he seems to have internet access unfortunately. On a slightly different note and I think worthy of a mention, the NHS are in the process of putting all patient records on their computerised system, they will then make these available to third parties such as researcher's, Universities etc for research purposes, if you do not wish to allow the NHS to disclose your information (this includes your GP records) then you can opt out, what you have to do is log on to the official NHS website and look for the opt out page, you fill in your name dob etc, it sends a code to either your phone or e mail, you then type the code in and click on the "opt out". the Government were supposed to give briefings on this, however it appears not to be the case. Speaking to friends and family who work in the NHS only one person knew about this.
I never got the Tuberculosis vaccine and I'm still here, they wouldn't give it to me because my older sister had a really bad reaction to the injection.
You’re “still here” because that’s how vaccines work. If enough people are vaccinated it helps stop the disease spreading. Of course you may still be here if there wasn’t a vaccine but there’d be a lot less people around you.
Most likely because you've not come into contact with someone else that has it. And the reason that you've not come into contact with someone that has it is because the disease has been largely eradicated. Of course it hasn't been entirely eradicated and in some areas of the world cases are rising. That cases remain low in areas where there is vaccination and is rising in areas where vaccination rates are low may, or course, be completely coincidental.
I might not have had it either. I seem to recall getting a scratch on my arm then the nurse applying the vaccine to it. But she actually scratched my arm in one place and put the vaccine in another.
