While it's out would it not be easier to drill the hole out and insert a helicoil?

Have no experience of putting one in and it seemed to me like another thing which could go wrong, especially as would have had to drill hellicoil hole with wobbly right-angle adaptor in drill. So was only planning on doing so if absolutely necessary.

Bike's already back together now and after a few hours test ride with panniers Monday, I plan on several day long trips in the forecast good weather next week :) Will be riding solo, so if the worst happens, panniers can get strapped on pillion seat and luggage rack. If worst doesn't happen then I reckon it's good enough.

I did not like the empty holes where the OEM mirrors were on the wife's Striple. So I cut some M10 threaded rods to size, and capped them with domed nuts. Much better.

Another day of hot, sunny weather .... another bike to clean!

This time it was the turn of the "modern" Triumph .... if an 11 year old Street T. can be termed modern! This one got a thorough, detailed clean - though it desperately needs the exhaust pipes to be removed and treated to a Harpic Max bath. Maybe at the end of the riding season ... assuming that we actually get a season and not just a promising start to a drawn out, dreary and disappointing summer! Yeah, wish it was legal! ;)

Actually, I don't really know why people obscure the plate in forum posted photos - think it's something to do with trying to preclude 'cloning' - but I thought that I would try, for once, to stay 'on trend'!

I'm not sure either, maybe it's because they could find out where the bike is kept? I've only just started hiding my plate.. just in case!

Washed the bonneville and the TZR then used my pet blower brought to dry the bikes and I like it wish I brought one years ago. Then gave them a polish, hope to have a run out on the bonneville tomorrow

The weather finally turned clear on a day I had time to ride, so I got a nice 130 miles in around the mountains of eastern Tennessee and western North Carolina. Not a lot of traffic out for the end of a holiday weekend.

Spent today riding to, and around the Peak District. Did 200 miles including a lot of potholey back roads and the repaired pannier fixing survived :)
I included a new (to me) road with a lovely view that I saw on a YouTube channel I watch...

First mot for trumpy so enjoyed the ride back more than going….
Great day as pipe was borderline and it passed. Guy was clearly deaf as it’s sc project with zero baffle. His hearing loss is my gain!
