Finished working today prior to cataract op tomorrowo_O and walked over local fields. These are from a hill which carries a scar from an iron ore mining collapse.

Then over Dalton in Furness with Lakeland fells behind

Cheers all. Hot back home about half hour ago and all went well apparently! Pupil massively dilated so it's like light is turned up to 11 :p (this is me now)

Wow, that was quick. Great that all went well. Just need an eyepatch now, and a wooden leg.

Ta Vulpes. Yeah it's a bit unnerving when someone comes at your eye with a sharp object. Onward and upward now :grinning:

I’m pretty sure that my wife is paying our friend to take me out for exercise.
Today we walked up Win Hill

For some reason I seem drawn to wizened old lonely trees. Hope Cement works to the left.

A rare photo of me in my 24 year old paddock jacket, I would have tucked in my jumper if I’d known I was going to be papped.

Your wife is paying someone to take you out?

Sorry m8, but my experience is that my Mrs is genuinely over the moon to get me out of the house.

Indeed she encourages motorcycle riding (the faster the better) and wants me to take up other dangerous sports such as free fall (no) bungie jumping, cricket (using live hand grenades), and 400m crocodile and piranha tank hop, skip and jump.

The only thing she hasn’t done is employed someone to be my friend and take me walking.

That is clearly the next and final step in the process.

Never quite sure if you are joking about this. Obviously a degree of hyperbole, but...?

That's right Side. Had my right eye done in 2019 and my left now. I always thought cataracts were an old fogey complaint not for a youngster (57) like me!

Next was Mt St. Helens - erupted 1980, the devastation we saw 34 years later blew me away. All those "matchsticks" blown over or left floating in the lakes were (by UK standards) very large trees. The power of nature!!

I visited here years ago - the remnants of Gavin Maxwell's (Ring of bright water) shark fishery on the island of Soay (south of Skye).
