I'm looking for a single layer denim jean with D30 protection (or similar) for the Mrs,currently she has a pair of Richa denim jeans with the kevlar lining which are fine but can be a bit warm at times , and as we usually stop of somewhere for lunch and have a wander around, a single layer jean would be more comfortable. So girls which jeans are you wearing and what do you think of them? are they true to fit and comfortable?
Dougie, I have one pair of Rokker women's jeans that are a single layer and are my go-to riding jeans when it's hot. They are Rokker "RokkerTech" jeans. Unfortunately they are WAY expensive but I've definitely gotten a ton of wear out of them and they'll be good for many more years. I have been able to find Rokker's on sale if I do a bit of poking around. They don't come with armor but have knee and hip pockets. These are the only single layer riding jeans that I own so the only ones I can vouch for. Oh, and to answer your other question, they are pretty much true to fit with a little more room in them than my other Rockers in the same size. I find them very comfortable with or without the armor in them. Happy hunting! The description below is from www.revzilla.com. Over the years I have found women's Rokkers on sale intermittently at https://www.fc-moto.de/en_GB
Thanks Sandi, i had thought about the Rokkers as I have a pair myself and they are great, but as my wife only goes on the back of the bike maybe 6 times a year I'm having a hard time justifying buying the Rokkers, i would also be buying the D30 "Ghost Armour" which would make it even more expensive. I've been looking at the Revit "Victoria" and the PJM "Sara" as they are both less than half the price of the Rokkers but still seem to be highly rated. I've bought gear from F.C.Moto before, but now that we are out of the EU there are high charges on top of the price they quote if we buy from the UK. If i do end up buying the Rokkers i'll have to make sure my wife doesn't find out the price as she would have a fit!!
I'll have to check out both of those jeans you mentioned, Dougie. I'm set for riding jeans for now but am always looking. Actually, I'm hoping my current batch last for the rest of my riding days! Less money on jeans means more money for trips or parts or..... Speaking of riding days, you could always amortize out the cost of a pair of Rokker's by multiplying 6 rides per year over the number of potential pillion years remaining. That's a rationalization, er, method that I use to figure out if something's worth purchasing. BTW, D30 armor is my favorite! The Icon version seems to work best for my riding gear sizing.

I often don't wear armor in my riding jeans (I know, I know...) because I find it so uncomfortable as to be distracting. Is Ghost a particular brand? Any suggestions on where to purchase? Thanks!!
Well, I should have just Googled before I responded to your post, Dougie. They turned up immediately on my favorite online retailer, Revzilla. I'll be giving this Ghost armor a try. Thanks again!
I really wish I had something great to recommend. Unfortunately I'm in what feels like the throes of hell trying to find riding jeans/leggings. I haven't tried the Rokkers yet. I'm looking for a pair of riding jeans I can tolerate the price of, that fit, and that put the knee armor in the right place. I've always worn leather chaps (some people hate them, some love them) for 20 years (the same pair that I've never put to the test (knock on wood)) and they are great but they don't have armor and are not subtle. I've been trying jeans from Cycle Gear (Revzilla)...buy, try and return...on about $1500 so far. Been in the price range of $69 (super duper discounted closeout price) to $300...still looking. I'm a pretty average size (US size 4, 65 inches tall with a 32 inch inseam) but the sizing seems to be all over the place and the deal-killer is the armor always ends up on my thigh versus my knee (or one pair it was downright painful...forget distracting, the stuff was digging into my leg and left a deep mark after just wearing for a few min). I'm waiting on three more pairs to arrive but they are back ordered until June. I've ordered the ghost armor to use if I ever find a pair of pants to put them in; it looks like the ghost armor is CE level 1 versus the non-ghost is CE level 2 but is much more bulky.
I have a pair of Spidi J Tracker single layer jeans (I assume that they are available in women's sizes). Cheaper than the Rokkers. They come with knee armour but you have to add the hip protectors - they do look and fit just like a normal pair of jeans. The knee armour can easily be removed for more comfort off the bike as the pocket is external.
I just looked on Revzilla.com and Spidi does make a woman's version of the J Tracker jeans. I've had two women's Spidi mesh jackets (one of which I currently wear when riding my Speed Triple). I watched the video review (men's version was reviewed) and they look great but the reviewer did say the abrasion resistance could be better. Spidi makes a Dyneema version of what seems to be this same jean. Dyneema is the liner material in most Rokkers) but that Spidi jean model is $150 more although it does include both knee and hip armor. . But....they don't make a women's version of the J-Dyneema jean unfortunately.
I might have known you'd be involved in a thread about which ladies apparel do you recommend me bestist mate
If it's any help i know that the Rokker jeans have the knee pocket for the armour that is adjustable for shorter or taller riders, it's a really simple solution and i don't know why all manufacturers don't use it (velcro for closing the pockets that you can adjust up or down) maybe they have patented it? the Ghost armour is really good, it is CE level 1 but according to Motolegends so is the normal D30 knee armour, although i think there is an even more bulky option that is level 2 (1) D3O Ghost armour review - YouTube fast forward to about 6.50 for the review
Yes, to be fair Sandi the guy in the shop explained that the Spidi jeans were not as resistant to abrasion as the Rokkers but were fine for urban riding up to about 60 mph. I don't wear them if I'm going any distance on the motorway or at constant higher speeds.
Mrs Marky has a pair of jeans from this mob and is very happy with them. I also have a pair. Motorcycle Jeans - CE A to AAA Rated, single skin to fully lined – Roadskin
Agreed, I have some too. I think they used to do women's jeans but it looks like they've changed their designs now
Yes there appears to be no women's jeans on their site anymore. May be worth a call. Mrs Marky defo has women's jeans.
Thanks. The Street and Steel Moto pants I tried on last night have tall, medium and short pockets and I've tried some others with the velcro adjustment. Guess I'm somehow outside their usual parameters or just too hard to please or have the abnormal expectation that the knee protection should sit over my knee Thanks for the review link...the ghost armor seems great. Now just to find the jeans to put them in... Would be great to get ones with external access that someone else mentioned but even that isn't a must.
My other half is wearing Resurgence, which she reckons are comfy and fairly shower proof too.Not tested their abrasion resistance yet. Bought online at whoever the discount seller is linked to Mcn... Sorry not the most helpful of posts..
