Since some time I was thinking of buying leather pants, preferably from Rev’it since that matches my jacket. Today finally treated myself and bought a ignition 3, not because I had to, but because I can. If only summer starts some time soon…

I’ve had those trousers on a watch on eBay for ages! What are they like?

I have a pair plus the ignition 3 jacket. They are good trousers for warmer weather, they have a 'waterproof' drop liner and mesh panels. They are excellent in hot weather when you have a chance to take the liner out and not too bad in cooler weather with the liner in. They are boot cut so go over your boots and in cooler weather the wind blows up the leg where the trousers go over boots.

I am not sure about the waterproof nature of the trousers or suit, I suppose the liners are something if you are caught out in a shower but I wouldn't want to test them by wearing them out in very wet weather (i.e. as we have now!)

All in all I think they are a good warm weather pair of trousers, the mesh panels combined with leather in the areas likely to come into contact with the ground should things go pear shaped are a good compromise to wearing all leather and suffering from Betty Swallocks.

update: had a ride out this week to escort my driving instructor at his last ride to his final resting place, along with app. 300 other bikers. Weather was sunny, temp around 24 degrees. Driving speed was around 25 km average, so besides the fact it was mighty impressive, the trousers where surprisingly comfortable. Would have liked to test them under other circumstances, but was happy to guide him on his last journey. R.I.P. Jaap Schulz.

Final update: there’s one thing I regret… I bought this pants to late. There superb for me, even in 25 degr. + in Austria they stayed comfortable. I do wear summer thermo trousers underneath, but there great. Any doubts? Don’t. Just go out and get them!
