I was so looking forwards to the day when I could just wander down to the local and enjoy a nice, quiet pint or two without having to endure the elements, in what has the makings of a poor summer. I got in from work at just after 6pm, got washed and changed and since it was by far and away the best part of the day weather wise, I decided that a quick hour out on the bike would be great. So off I went, a beautiful evening and a real pleasure to be out on the Bonny. I passed numerous pubs, including my local, all of which had their doors open and customers inside again, at long last. It seems to underline the fact that you can get out of a habit after so long of going without. No doubt I'll be paying a visit over the coming weekend though.
Yes it is brilliant to see the pubs open again. The wife and I went to our favourite biker cafe for a full English breakfast yesterday and today we are having dinner with my youngest son and family at a local family restaurant. Can’t wait to have some food and a couple of pints served by friendly staff
I work away quite a bit, in Cornwall tonight, so l'm quite excited at the thought of a pint and a proper meal in the rub a dub next door. No Pot Noodles tonight matey boy!
Our social club opened for the first time since it's refurbishment yesterday. I was first in! (I live opposite to be fair).
Might have to see if the Strines Inn near Sheffield has reopened. An old country pub on a great bike route on back roads in the Peak District. Quite popular with bikers on occasion and stopped there a few times myself for a beer, alcohol free of course.
Good man, nice to someone fulfilling their civic duty. I'm feeling slightly fuzzy now, nicely tanked up at some Table Table eatery. In fact...l love you man, you're feckin' great
Here's the pub from yesterday and now I'm here at The Prince Regent! Let's drink our way out of this pandemic!
You'll do for me! I'm just too cream crackered for such things, been a long week. But good work Steve
This just confirms what we already knew and that is that you are a piss head Mr Lovatt. But I do like your style.
It’s a boys night out tonight …5 of us getting together for the first time in months and months and months. A Thai meal in The George and Dragon Wendover and a few pints of Guinness. It’s strange how Guinness goes so well with Thai food….
Proper Friday night out with an excellent meal at The Six Bells. Glad to say that the place was packed, long may it continue.
Went out last night to my usual pub with the same two mates, been going there about three years until about sixteen months ago. It was shut ffs. Opens on Monday 24th. I assume they are still brewing the ale(which is very very nice and quite cheap). So we went a little further up the lane to another pub called the Cross Keys and spent a nice few hours in front of a coal fire supping ale and talking shit. It was very nice to get back into the Friday Night routine. Took to it like a duck to water. This is where we ended up https://www.crosskeysinn.net/
Quick update: Six Bells Saturday afternoon with the family. Missed out on Sunday (very lax of me) A cheeky one in the Six Bells at lunch time today and the Hat and Rabbit booked for dinner this evening . Leaving Fulbourn tomorrow and heading down to Brighton for a week. I know lots of pubs in Brighton.
