Featured Rideout North East 250

The North east 250 is a newish Route created due to the popularity of the NC 500,Welcome to the North East 250 - The Ultimate Scottish Road Trip
As it is on my doorstep i decided to do the official route, it actually starts about 1 mile from the Glenshee Ski Centre in the middle of nowhere! they would have been much better starting it from Blairgowrie and calling it the NE 300,no idea why they didn't as it would make more sense.
i started off about 7am so the roads were really quiet, they're usually pretty quiet normally anyway. i stopped off at the Humpy back bridge (don't know what it's real name is) on the road up to Tomintoul for a quick photo




next stop was at another bridge the Craigellachie Bridge for a few more photos

i didn't take any more photos of Bridges as i though that would be a Bridge too far
i then joined the coast road at Fochabers it goes all the way along to Fraserburgh, I've never done that stretch before, it was interesting passing through all the little villages & small towns some lovely costal views and some nice roads and they were better than i thought they would be as i had visions of single track roads. i stopped of at Pennan where they filmed Local Hero, it is a really steep twisty road down to Pennan

Back home through the Cairngorms, "Braemar Castle" stopped of in Braemar for a Coffee

 

I'll try, but it's back to the grindstone on Monday mind you i got a text from my mate he fancies a run tomorrow

i cant remember how i shared that previous route their web site is not great for giving a detailed map of the route, but I've stuck up a link, i think you have to log on to myroute-app to view it though

 

The only bit that could get confusing is the coast road as you have to take several turn offs to get back onto the coast road as it's not a continuous road,thats how it's best to make the route up and stick it in the sat nav
