So I've been riding about 6 months now and I know my bike isn't the most comfortable in the world being a supersport but that's fine, I rode 150 miles round trip to work on Monday and the last 20 miles was very uncomfortable, to the point I'm considering doing plates to stretch that groin and hip area.

Well today I took out a cbr600f out -don't worry not trading in the triumph, I just thought id try something different for me commute and oh my god!!!! It was so comfortable, sat slightly higher, very narrow tank but felt very boring/underpowered until 9000rpm.

I had an offer to take out a newish street triple but I've refused, that seat looks waaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyy too comfortable and would end up making me hate this bike and I can't risk that.

I'm waffling but I've realised the daytona 650 was designed for the wide stance of John Wayne.

If you are going to regularly ride that distance I would consider a more upright comfortable bike if not take more frequent stops and have a stretch?

I won't be using it regularly for those commutes but I will be looking for a sit up and beg for the next bike, the next bike will be something I keep for a while so want to enjoy all aspects of it.

Fair shout, I would just enjoy what you have for a while until you want to change bike, I love my Bonnie but always look for bikes to replace it but I can't do it is a keeper but would buy a second bike for different duties, this addiction is going to be expensive!

Hahahaha yea I get jealous of the new bikes but then jealous of the older bikes then jealous of
Bike gadgets and clothing and everything bike related

But I am happy with this bike and am happy it's my first bike as I would have regretted it if I had just settled

I had a daytona 675 and had the exact same feeling . Truth be told there not ideal for super long trips. I changed to more upright bikes afterwards and must admit I'm glad I did as it makes the experience more enjoyable.

I loved the look of the 675 but Im not a small lad and thought I'd look a bit silly (my mind has changed somewhat) plus the cost and got talked out of a bandit 1200 as engine is too big for a first bike which was sound advice I think but yea supers ports ain't ideal for distance but I do reckon I could ride twice the distance on that cbr600 though.

I've been asked to have a ride out/camping trip to snowdon after lockdown ends which he tried to change to Scotland, errrm nope, Wales will do nicely.

I found when I quit using the bike for commuting I started enjoying it more. Back in the early 1980's I used to commute 104 miles a day, 5 days a week over a mountain pass and through California traffic. The bikes are only for play now. ...J.D.

Check out Dave Moss on YouTube and at https://davemosstuning.com/
You have to start at fitting your bike to you, not the other way around.

Oh man that sounds like it would be great fun as a ride out but yea like you say, tyat commute would get tedious.
Then again if I was back out in America I'd enjoy just riding anywhere, maybe not frisco or new York though

I've just had to Google it, is it wierd that I like it but also sit up and supersports?
    Maybe I'm greedy.

When it comes to bikes you will never stop looking for a new one or at least the next thing you are going to add to the current one. The Bobber and the 2018+ Speedmaster give you a 1200cc bike that is fast, responsive and easy to ride. I am not saying you are going to take it out for track days but there is plenty of power and you can add high bars to sit up straight or clipons if you want more of the cafe racer style. Plus there are plenty of options to add on to change the entire style. Look around a bit on here https://www.triumphbobberforum.com/

That top bike (bobber I think) is beautiful

I'm glad your all in the same boat regarding looking at other bikes, I just thought I was being greedy and should be content with what I have

You can be content and still eye other bikes.
I'm sure if you were lucky enough to be shagging Pamela Anderson regularly you would still wanna shag another chick given the chance.
    I wouldn't of course, lol.
