Firstly, I am not a bike rider. I purchased a 2010 Triumph Bonneville T100 for my son about 18 months ago. After about one year it developed a starting fault. It has been with the Triumph specialist in Ashford for some 6 months, they have replaced the computer (£700) and still the bike won't start; they have now given up on it. I shall be taking ownership of the bike in order to get the bike going again and will be seeking the knowledge of the forum members to achieve that goal.
    Standbye...

That sounds a bit worrying that the 'specialist' couldn't diagnose and fix the fault. Have you had anyone else look at it?

Some dealerships only have mechanics who can work off analysers, rather than those with life experience that allows critical analysis of the issue.:sun:
With an issue that stumps dealers, I would seek out an older bike mechanic, although it is sad they have dropped sorting the problem after starting to work on it

That's all true, of course. I was wondering whether the 'specialist' was a dealer, with access to any additional information they have. It might not provide the answer but ti's where I'd try next.

An old-style mechanic couldn't work out what was wrong with my Street Triple stalling when revs dropped to idle but another chap who restores all sort of bikes and cars got it sorted. It's finding the right person that's the tricky bit.

They've charged you (or your son) £700 for a new 'computer' and have then given up on the bike! That really doesn't sound good. If they are Triumph agents they should be sticking with it until they sorted it out IMHO. Best of luck in getting it sorted anyway.

Yikes. I just ordered a gently used 2010 T100 and waiting for it to be delivered to me. I hope this isn't a common issue :worried:

So, what are the actual symptoms? Does it not start, or not spin?
