One of my favourite breakfast stops in the Peak District will be opening their outdoor seating on April 12th, I'm happy to note. I'm long past due for a bacon and cheese oatcake. I will also hopefully have a bike fully road legal from the 1st. Anyone game for a meet up, bit of a tool around? Slowly, I need to knock the rust off my riding , and preferably during the week. Post here, PM, whatever if you might fancy it. :)

Hey, @Smilinjack, great to read that one of your favorite breakfast places will be open again soon! :) I'd love to join you over a meal and for a ride but it's a wee bit far for me. ;) I'll join you in spirit, though! I would, however, like to know---just what is a bacon and cheese oatcake??

Bit far for me mate but like you I can't wait for most places to open up so you can sit outdoors - too many cuppas and bacon butties stood up in layby's at the moment!

Good arrows Andy, as l'm sure you're aware that pic is lifted from the site of the very café to which l was referring-Cobbles in Longnor. You and l enjoyed a brew there a couple of summers ago. Not easy getting oatcakes once you're out of Staffs seemingly, now and again l find a pack in a supermarket but a bit hit and miss. The offer's there anyway, hopefully someone will take me up on it. :)

Weather permitting I’m up for either the Monday or Tuesday.
I’m taxed from March 1st so I’ve been out a few times for essential groceries.
Seem to have lost all sense of direction though over winter :p

Sound mate. My bikes haven't even been insured. Income taken a bit of a hit these past months. First time in 20 years or so l haven't had a road legal bike all year round, but onwards and upwards. I'll message your nearer the time :)

Thanks for the explanatory photo, @Yorkshireman. :) Are those beans along with the bacon that peeking out from the oatcakes?

I'm not quite sure that you had your wits about you if you were doing 135mph and thought you were going 80mph., Smilinjack!;):joy: But then I guess you were only off by 55mph.....

Yes they are. I have to confess that I haven’t actually partaken of said oat cakes myself Sandi and whilst @Smilinjack quoted bacon and cheese I like the look of the eggs with the beans filling. Choices choices

A great idea and extremely tempting, however minimum wage job has to take priority I'm afraid.

☹️ Just checked my rota, that's the day I travel back up to work.
If you fancy going again sometime between the 1st of May and the 15th let me know. It's a nice ride down and closer than Matlock Bath.

That's a shame, but very understandable. If you find yourself available any time, just PM or post on here, no need to stand on ceremony, as it were. :)

No sweat Peter, it's my local riding area so l tend to be there a fair bit. I generally post up here if l'm expecting to be having a bit of a spin. Equally, if you fancy a ride when you are available, just say so, or PM me. Always happy for a meet up and show people around who may not know the area. :)

I'm up in Huddersfield, I tend to bimble round Woodhead / Snake and down to Buxton / Matlock / Chatsworth area, plus there's a bookshop I like in Bamford.
    I'll give you a shout.
