The m7's remain my all time favourite! Not tried new m9's. Stopped buying them when I got the superduke because I went through 2 sets 1500 miles o_O. But apart from milage, they were the best feeling wet and dry and most confidence inspiring tyre for me!

Aha! I just ordered some for my Speed Twin. I am tired of plugging holes in the Diablo Rosso's. I have a set on my S1000XR and the puncture at the sight of a lumberyard. Frustrating. Putting some R5's on that but if these M9's are as good as I'm reading, I may put them on the XR also.

Iloved the M9's on my street tripple, I went up to Tan hill in Arkengarthdale in early January in mist and murk, they were amazing. On warm dry roads the best I've had. I have R5's on my XR ,they work really well both wet and dry, wear rate is excellent too, not sure how the M9's would last on it, but I bet they would be awesome.

I have these tyres on my speed triple & really like the feel of them. I had Bridgestone T30evo before which I never really like, strangely the bike feels higher on these tyres. I wouldn`t of thought the larger profile would of been noticeable. I have only done 500 mile on them so can`t tell about pushing on in corners.

I loved the Racetec's and was surprised to get 4k out of them , always consistent. Looking forward to the new M9's.

Finally got them installed , they are a bit firmer than the Racetec K3's , but that's no surprise , the should give me a few more miles. Spring is finally here , 77F (25C) today ! time for a proper ride.

I agree Greywolf, the Racetec RR K3 are a great tyre wet or dry, you can get them for £240 a pair for the STRS - personally I run Supercorsa's SCV3s and find them a really great tyre even in the wet if you keep to sensible road speeds, I know they don't cover great mileage, the cost doesn't come into it for me as I just factor it into the annual running costs, currently you can get them for around £350 a pair. There is also the new Pirelli Diablo Rosso 1V out for £226 a pair, although I have not heard of any reviews to date as to how they perform. I think if a particular tyre suits a rider and their bike stick with them, after all it's all about enjoyment

The M9's are very linear, not quite as much stick as the Racetec K3's , but that was to be expected.

After 500 miles on the M9's I noticed the harder compound was a bit more nervous over the bad pavement than the Racetec K3's. I backed the rebound/ compression off 2 clicks all around and it made a world of difference. Now they feel about the same as the K3's , much smoother and a bit easier to push hard in the twisties... lesson learned.

2000 miles on ,the M9's,they are Very similar to the Pirelli Diablo Rosso III that came on my Ducati 950 S .Both adequate for the job in most conditions. I just installed Diablo Rosso Corsa II's on my Duc, and SURPRISE they're just like the K3's. Pirelli ,has owned Metzeler since the mid 80's so it makes sense. I've read that as Metzeler only makes motorcycle tires they also do that for the Parent company. That is plausible if not accurate..

I've decided the extra mileage for me isn't enough to go firmer any more.

The TFC came stock with K3's, Panigale's come stock with Corse II's .. case closed
