Had intended to complete all services myself. To that end have acquired an OBD interface and SW. Have bought filter, washer and oil for first service but then had a belated thought. How do I know whether there isn't a new engine map for my bike? And how would I find out? If there is one, is it best done at the dealer thus removing my intended servicing independence? Naive questions I know but wondered whether anybody can give a pointer. Ta

If the engine is running sweet and no errors then I don't suppose there's any need to worry about maps?
I know they plug in the rs to their laptop/pc to do the sw check at the main services but no idea why.
If you get a OBD2 MX dongle (£100 ish instead of the cheaper £15 one) and tuneecu, you can download maps to the bike yourself. Maps available on their website and others.
I've just purchased the £15 one and tuneecu just to look at errors and to reset the light.
    All good.
@MadMrB can possibly help more as he uses it?
I think he's recently turned his street triple into a rocket 3 TFC using the tuneecu with no errors! ;)
Drinks fuel though and not overly keen on tight corners now!!!!! (the bike, not him..):):)

Once a warranty has expired, main dealers = the last resort!

Not saying there aren't good ones out there, but there are plenty of bad ones too and neither are cheap.

I've been looking to purchase an OBD to service my 1200R. One of the reasons I bought the Thruxton was to do my own servicing. No one takes the same care of your machine as the owner would. This unit OBDLINK MX looks ok but can't find the direct link on the tuneecu website. Bought a BlueDriver unit with no success & returning the unit. Suggestions?

Dealers have been a last resort for me, warranty or no warranty, after having bad and expensive experiences with them many years ago. This is the servicing tool/software I was thinking of buying come service time......

My 2017 TTR needs the brake fluid replaced as a routine task but it seems this requires special kit to bleed the ABS system. I feel I’m stuck with giving a job to a dealer I would normally due myself. Triumph dealer or local bike shop?

Tuneecu can do the abs bleeding.
You need to buy the obd dongle and the sw (Android only)
