    Steve

A man that uses language I understand ( the pointy bit) mate you are a star. The pointy bit was horizontal but had not "clicked" into position so was the reason for the leak and when I clicked it into place we have had no further problems. It will be something I will check regularly.

I have used the pointy bit to get the bike to start a couple of times and now make sure it is in place.

Now I understand about the clutch as when I was a "young" man was a pillion on a triumph tiger with kickstart and it didnt like me and tried to break my ankle just for fun when my boss let me try and start the bike before us riding up into London in all bloody weather.

Thank you for taking the time to help appreciate it

    Graham

    Welcome Graham.

Don't bother buying a lottery ticket in the next year or so - you've used up more than your fair share of good luck already so let someone else have a chance, eh? ;)

    Great bike - at any price (I've got a few T300s) - AND a Lotus .... SHEEZE .........

    Not a bit jealous.

p.s. if you ever decide to replace those big, ugly, black silencers I'll happily fund some new ones and take those off your hands ............ :D

    Hi Adie

I need a lottery win to fund the work I may need to do on the bike :) as a totally incompetent mechanic but just want to give it a go and ride it. I also now know that the big ugly black silencers are worth keeping :p

sadly the lotus is not mine but it is in my garage and I have the keys so its really mine heho

Damn! I've been rumbled. Ah well ........ always worth a chance.

Have to say that your Sprint looks to be in very good condition ..... hope it goes as well as it looks. You'll be aware, no doubt, that the battery needs to be kept in very good condition before attempting to start these things - the one thing you do NOT need is a broken starter sprag!

There are limited sources for parts supply - Sprint Manufacturing https://www.triumphparts.co.uk/ being one of the better sources. Total Triumph at Taunton seem to have become the primary supplier of Triumph factory overstocks - thay have an ebay shop - so, if there's anything you need from them, let me know ... they're nearby and I can probably save you something on postage.

    Enjoy!

You are right it looks great very happy with it and cannot wait to be able to go out and ride it. I am going to lovingly care for my starter sprag (thankfully it has a new one). I have also received a brand new battery from the dealer.

Thank you for your offer to help and I will most likely take you up on it as I learn more about the bike or more likely when I do something stupid. It might be easier if you move to Cumbria :)

It would, self evidently, be very much easier if I moved to Cumbria ...... but it would be temporary and would involve me moving back here with your Sprint shortly afterwards ......... :D
