At least the glass is showing signs of improvement If only Jack Daniels played for Sunderland but he doesn't
Beer fridge loaded for the weekend. A little venison bologna, hot stick and venison ham made from the hind quarters.
@Peter B, what are your go to gins? I am a true gin aficionado. Always looking for something new and delicious to try.
Tonight it’s Angel’s Envy Rye (a Christmas present from Mr. Sandi) accompanied by Trader Joe’s truffle marcona almonds. Forgot to snap a photo before the almonds were consumed, however. Dilli, I thought about pairing the rye with some chilies we living in the south west and all, but thought the it might detract from the heat and flavor of the vegetables. My rye is in new glassware, BTW. I ran an errand today and found these nice whiskey glasses so bought a pair for Mr. Sandi and me. I do like cool glassware for some reason.
Nice gin collection, Peter! I’ve had Martin Miller’s but have not seen very many of those other bottles around where I live. I have always been interested in the Monkey 47. What do you think of that one? How would you describe it? Thanks for taking the time to post the photos of your collection, BTW.
Nice, we tend to drink it with fever tree tonics which are excellent. I tend towards the Islay whisky more than gins. Bruchladdich is a favourite. Closely followed by Bombay Sapphire and then anything
Even better! A "collection" implies that you keep it and set it aside to look at...as opposed to drinking it which is much more enjoyable.
I would still say Monkey 47 is my favourite gin Sandi, well worth a try if you can get it over there It makes a fantastic Martini or can be (should be?) drunk neat on the rocks. If you add tonic then make it a standard tonic and please don't drown it
If you're talking gin, we're members of a Craft Gin club and get sent a different gin each month. Here's a small selection from: The Lake District Monaco India Cape Town Netherlands We've also had Swedish, Australian, Hong Kong and Brazilian varieties.
Ah, now I know why you always stagger and slur your speech when you arrive somewhere and get off your bike.
Thanks for your feedback on the Monkey 47, @Helmut Visor. We can get it here but it’s quite expensive. Nevertheless, I will splurge and give it a try. And don’t worry about me drowning my gin. I love gin too much to ever drown it.
