I agree, figwold. It made me sad but it also made me hopeful.

OMG, I just now am listening to Trump's "speech" to the protestors, many of whom are rioters. Unbelievable. He just poured more fuel on the fire by focusing on the "stolen" election results under the guise of telling his "fans" to go home. I'd say more but I'll stop there. Edit: Just looked at the tweet that Sprinter provided the link for. This is the "speech" to which I was referring.

 

The side of our nation and the Constitution. And that's not the side of the person who is currently the president.

 

I'm sure his "handlers" finally convinced him that this would make him look better. The news reports said that Trump was in his office fuming about Mike Pence not overturning the Electoral College vote--which he can't even do.

 

Many, I hope. He has certainly been enabled by many around him for whatever their own reasons. But the buck stops with him.

When I first learned over four years ago that Donald Trump was running for president my response was, "He's running for president because we don't have a monarchy or a dictatorship in the United States".
