I have Triumph footboards on my '05 America. If you check the parts diagram for these, look at: part #10, spacer, M6, Hex x 18. This is a 3/4-inch long hexagonal threaded sleeve that extends downward form the front of each board. They look like hero blobs, or lean angle indicators. They're there to scare the shite out of you when you get a bit of lean on!
I know, they are an attaching point for 'curb finders' ! You know, those long thin coil spring gadgets that attach near the front of your lake pipes on your '50's cruiser !!!
