Have a look at one for sale at redline motorcycles Northfield. I was the 1st of its 2 owners. I did quite a bit of modding to it. They've had it some time now. Could tempt them with a sensible low offer.

    Hi Johno,
Funnily enough I know this garage. Have had a bike from them.
Did see the bike but it does seem very pricey with the millage even with offer.
What mods did you do, I see it has an after market exhaust.
Are the these Tigers much slower than the newer bikes. I did ride a new Tiger but it felt very clinical. I had a 955 Speed triple and it felt like a proper bike no bells and whistles. Which is what i am looking for.

    thanks
    Matt

    Hi Matt,

I've not ridden a tiger sport so can't offer a comparison.

I decatted the bike, fitted a K&N filter and had it remapped. Fitted the Zard can too. It used to fly. Dont think you'd be disappointed with its performance even after your speedy.

I upgraded the bulbs and fitted led spots. The spots hit full power on main beam but run on about half power with the DRLs. I also did a scroll button mod to access the trip computer without having to lean over to reach the clocks.

I also fitted a palmer products screen, which is very effective. It has the 3 box triumph luggage as well. I sold them the bike with about 13K on the clock and gave them all the standard bits I took off. Not sure how many more miles the 2nd owner added.

Sound like a salesman here don't I. That's not my intention. Just trying to give you the low down. Shout out if there's anything else you want to know.

    Hi Johnno,

That, s quiet a list of Mods. Bike has 31.5 K on her now second owner must have enjoyed riding her.

Am defiantly going to check her out. There are a few newer ones on for this sort of price but without the mods.
I do prefer the look of the older model.

Did you move to the 1200 after this?

    Thanks again

    Matt

    Hi Matt.

I was packing in riding. I broke my femur in a mountain bike accident. I wasn't enjoying riding after 2 ops on my leg. So I got Redline to sell the bike for me on a commission basis. My leg pain eventually eased after a couple of years so I went back to bikes. :)

Forgot to mention earlier I did the airbox mod too. That only involved opening up the airway into the airbox. Triumph had strangled that 1050 engine in the Tiger. They didn't want to lose Speed Triple sales to the updated tourer. I ended up pretty much with the same power as the speedy. Good fuel consumption too.

As nice as the mods were they shouldn't add much, if any value to the bike. In your shoes I would probably go for a younger bike and do the mods myself. Unless you can get Redline down to sensible money.

BTW, the 2nd owner did enjoy himself. He put another 18K on it.

    Cheers

    John
