Merry Christmas ‘20 everyone! Was wondering if any of you who own street triple RS 2016 - 2019 ever add on a quick down shift kit? I’m looking for advice and thoughts on that regard. Thanks in advance.

Merry Christmas Don. Brilliant bike, I had one. Did not miss a down shifter on it though. It's surprisingly easy on that particular bike to do clutchless downshifts yourself. Try putting a little pressure on the shifter and give a throttle a very small blip. It'll click down a gear ever so easily. If your high in the revs, give it a good big blip. Great fun and quite satisfying once you get a feel for it. It's no harder on the gearbox than an auto blipper is (IMO), its doing exactly the same thing.

Merry Christmas Andy I would definitely give your suggestion a try! I bought the bike last January and managed to put 10k before putting it away this winter. What are u riding now if I may ask? Cheers

I'm not surprised you got 10k on it, very addictive bike! I would have kept mine but I have another sporty naked bike, a ktm superduke. So I ended up with a wee street twin to try and chill out a bit and relax :D
I honestly think the street triples are the best modern bike Triumph make. Love them! I've had 2 and a speed triple but I prefer the street triple for pure fun and thrills:)

A Superduke! Fantastic choice! I had the ‘08 990 SD before and loved it although I know it’s almost a different breed with the waaay much more powerful newer versions! I do miss having more torque at times but overall really happy I went with this ‘19 ST3 RS. As far as Triumph’s parallel twin I’ve had ‘12 Thruxton and rode it across island of Java then ferried to Bali (Indonesia) no hiccups whatsoever with only smiles on my face most times (minus crazy heat in traffic every time we pass through cities/towns) Well thanks again for your replies Andy! Much appreciated. Cheers

That 765 is a rocket! So light! People who haven't ridden one probably pass it off as the speed triples little brother. Its a very very fast bike with better agility and stopping power :)

Indeed it has that potent power especially once it’s on 7- 8k rpm! Planning on doing track days this coming season so super excited! Cheers and stay safe my friend

Hi Don, look up the website of UK Race Support they do a HM quickshifter/autoblipper, it's a trick bit of kit, it comes in 2 models, the pro has loads of features including a pit lane limiter, a warm up mode and loads more capabilities, it's probably the quickest acting units out there. Ride safe all

Thanks Iceman! I’ll have a look into it although it seems like this is a more advance kit cater to professional track racing. I actually was thinking about the autoblipper parts of the 2020 street triple RS that came with both up+down. Possible?

Hi Don, the 2020 quick shifter/ blipper will not retro fit the 2019 and earlier models, everything is different, you will have to look at an aftermarket one if you want the downshift, the HM base model is excellent and has the up/down shift, and a lot cheaper, that said it's still a really great unit.
