Being retired I have the luxury of time. I came to this with no particular view but I educated myself and weighed the evidence because the official line is like Swiss cheese if you did but look. I then compared the independent and official science and who turned out to be closest to unfolding truth. I don’t promote ‘my’ ideas. I simply publicise theirs. They are genuinely expert. I merely have a nose for shite. See the Despatch program on the NI PCR so-called laboratory? As pristine as a butcher’s with rat droppings on the slab.......

This is the BBC that is under investigation for fraud in its current affairs programmes I did not talk of any operations, I simply posted a link to an article. Yes the NHS had a tough time during at the start of the inital outbreak, which was not a lot different to some previous flu outbreaks. The Nightingale hospitals were unused, and we also now know that, after the initial peak the NHS was not overrun, and had plenty of capacity. However due to the scare mongering many people were staying away from hospitals. There is also the economic effects that are proved to have an effect on mortality. I am not disputing that some operations were cancelled due to Covid, what I am saying is that there are many scientists and health experts who believe that lockdown will cause more deaths in the long term, I can see the logic in that and I also share that opinion. I am not saying that precautions should not be taken, like common sense hygene and social distancing, self isolation and protection of the vulnerable. (see my previous posts, I have been consistent on this). I am not wanting to see people suffer and die, (which is the ridiculous accusation made when anyone challenges lockdown), quite the opposite I want to see less death and a quicker end to this pandemic with less long term damage. I am trying to view this whole situation with common sense and taking into account known facts, unlike many who simply have an irrational, emotional, and often puerile response.
Er, no. I am merely saying let’s see who ends up being the better forecaster. There are two ways to achieve natural immunity; disease or vaccine. I strongly suspect the penetration of Covid NOW means the secondary wave of deaths is ‘baked in’ and if not already subsiding will do so imminently i.e. 2-3 weeks. A properly tested vaccine has a possible role next autumn. The Trump thing is about to get entertaining and I have no idea what may emerge but I think Biden’s apparent win will be badly tarnished or worse.
This is normal for a virus outbreak, and is consistent with those occuring previously. In fact Covid has followed pretty much the same path as most previous respiratory type virus outbreaks (where there were no lockdowns), a little more severe yes, but largely predictable.
The flatten and decrease is directly related to lockdown. Lockdown date + 2 weeks, the curve flattens. No lockdown, case spread exponentially. That's almost the only rule facts gave us. For exemple, in my area, we've been preserved during the first wave, without any visible change on habits we are now the worst area in term of virus spreading.
It has bugger all to do with lockdown but may itself have been highly instructive about when to impose one to create the desired appearance...... Epidemics have a natural roller coaster profile with a big first hump and a smaller second one where we are now. Government intervention can only hope to flatten those curves but not the casualty count which is more spread out. Remember that? You are free to believe otherwise.
Actually a proper lockdown does work. Take Wuhan for example, where a proper lockdown did take place and where people are back to living normal lives as witnessed by Britons who live there. What doesn't work is a partial lockdown like we have in this country.
