So she is starting to get naked. Looks like there is lots to be done. Note to self - when choosing a project bike - jap crap is easier and cheaper to get parts for. Most of the bits needed are in the USA and shipping charges are horrendous!

Two-stroke for first rebuild! That’s courage! But, when you get it done, you should on tight!:p

They all look worse when you get their clothes off eh @Streetgirl675 o_O:worried::joy:

A bit of elbow grease & time will have that looking good again, seems weird you got to send to the USA for a bike built in Austria? I will ask a couple of mates who are still into Moto-X racing the classic stuff i they know where else you can source parts, what are you have trouble sourcing?

Have you been looking @Bad Billy ??????o_Oo_O We’ve ordered quite a few bits so far , around 70% from US. Like you I had assumed we would be sourcing from Austria. Thanks for the offer :grinning: Need payday to come around again  before I can get anymore. My OH is on a KTM forum and it looks like it is a standard issue in trying to get parts.

I had a chat with my mate & he said he has to source parts from the States as well, even for a Yamaha YZ125 from the 80’s, don’t get that? But there you have it!

i had the same bike Streetgirl and it ripped :D:D, not quite as scary as a 400 Maico which i had in my youth. that left me in AE with a couple of knees being cleaned with a scrubbing brush and sterile liquid LOL. that learnt me not to wheelie in 3rd gear on the approach to a crest :joy::joy::joy:

Had to grind out a few of the bearings as we couldn’t press them out. He even let me have a go at making sparks :relieved: pretty pretty :grinning:
Need to get the frame either shot or vapour blasted and repainted.

Stator pack is rusted so not surprised there wasn’t very strong spark.

Oooooooo! Some oily bits, you're after my own heart Streetgirl. Nothing more satisfying than an engine rebuild, just sayin'. Just about the only thing guaranteed about a restoration/rebuild is it costs more than you expect, as you're probably finding! Stick with it, it'll be worth it. :)

Him in the garage let me play with one of his tools today ;):grinning: Cleaned up loads of nuts and bolts and other bits on his wire brish wheel thingy ( i am guessing it hasxa more technical name than that) o_O Actually found it really cathartic and satisfying seeing the dirty rusty bits turn into nice shiny clean bits.

:joy::joy: No long fingernails for me either, @Streetgirl675. I'd rather spend money on motorcycle parts and gear than on manicures. ;):grinning: Good luck dealing with that Christmas turkey with those hands.
