6 weeks ago I rode my '92 Trophy 12 into the shed to begin it's transformation, and today I have tried to start it up for the first time since, with no success. The battery is fully charged but the solenoid just clicked continuously when the starter button was pressed. After proving the solenoid output feed at the starter motor, I connected a booster direct to the starter terminal but it refused to spin. I tried to rock the bike back and forth in gear but the rear wheel was locked solid unless the clutch was disengaged.

Has anyone experienced something like this? I'm thinking/hoping it's just a seized starter due to it's refusal to turn even with a car battery connected to it. I haven't had time to remove it and check as I'm starting moving house tomorrow and the Wife's nag level has now passed un-bearable so I've closed the shed for the night. I was hoping to ride the bike to the new place but now looks like it'll have to go in the moving truck...

A picture is worth a thousand words ;)

Engine hasn't been out, wheels, forks and swingarm have. T'bird 900 yoke and fuel tank fitted. New rear subframe & forward controls fabricated. Rear wiring shortened, battery, expansion bottle, ECU and fuse board relocated. New saddle, sideplate/tail light, headlight and speedometer. Hugger and bars from an XJR. Paint from here and there. Silencers to follow. Maybe ;)

I was going to suggest all sensors Ie side stand, clutch and tip sensor, if your bike has one but the Locked up transmission is a mystery, you are getting it into neutral aren't you? The gear selector is not misaligned? Forgive me I'm just throwing things out there.

Yes I can select gears and neutral, while testing the forward controls last week the rear wheel could still be turned against the compression resistance. But since trying to start the engine everything has locked.

    OUCH!!!
    That sounds a tad expensive.
Not knowing the beast and preferring 'simpler' old school mechanicals, can you turn the engine with the plugs out? if so it could be that you've messed up on the electrical front somewhere after reading the list of wiring mods you've done.
Sorry if it sounds too obvious it's just something else to consider

Had an electrician looking at it and I'm glad to report it's running now. A combination of a fractured engine earth cable terminal and a loose starter terminal in the motor body was to blame. Thanks for the replies.

Got it done at mates rates with a hefty discount. If I'd had time to clean around the back of the gearbox yesterday I'd have found the broken earth myself and got it fired up. The starter fault being rectified as well is a bonus, it seems that it had engaged and then jammed, causing the transmission lock.
