Hi Folks, I got a call last night, now I don't usually answer calls in the evening from phone numbers I don't recognize, especially during an election year! The fellow on the other end asked for me by name and says he is calling in behalf of ReActs Ministries and that I just won the Rally for the motorcycle. I'm wondering which one of my brothers is trying to pull my leg. He says I'll get another call shortly from another fellow to get my shipping information. I'm thinking, RIGHT! Now mind you I've entered several raffles lately to win either a new car or motorcycle. The one I'm thinking about is the 2020 BMW R1250 GS Plus $10,000. Now I'm pumped and waiting for that next call. I am thinking, I sure hope that this isn't some kind of joke by a friend or brother! While I am waiting for the call I look up the raffle for the BMW but is isn't going to end for almost another month. So what bike is this, I still don't remember. Long Story Short; I forgot I entered to win a 1966 Custom Triumph Bonneville, built my Mike Watanabe of Union Motorcycle Classics located in Napa Idaho! http://www.unionmotorcycle.com/ I can't believe I am the winner of this beautiful bike. Oh, did I mention that today is my 47th anniversary! What a great gift! I mean that gift of that wonderful gal that has put up with me for that long. https://www.facebook.com/UnionMotorcycleClassics/
I enter raffles or drawings with no expectations of winning, just donating to a good cause. You know what they say, if you don't enter you can't win. This one had pretty good odds, 522 to 1. I was just one lucky shod, for sure. Cheers
Sweet. Nice to see that they were forward thinking enough back in those days to anticipate how bikes would look in 2020, hardly looks a lot different to one of Triumph's modern classics.
Any body notice any issues that an old fart like me might have, with some of the changes made from stock, Besides the old shifter (on the right) brake (on the left) placement. Going to have to deal with that no matter what.
Parts are easy to find in the US should you wish to make changes, it has the later better front brake apart from maintenance i see no issues
