Rideout Map of favourite route

Good idea! Any tracking links would be nice too if we old duffers can get us eds around techno tackle!

 

Good idea, does anyone know how you can copy and paste a route that you plot on google maps? i tried to do that but there doesn't seem to be that option i suppose you could print the map then scan it into your computer but there must be an easier way, maybe some one more computer savy will know a way.
it would be good to show the actual route on a map and also show another map of the uk with the route boxed for those not familiar with the area

This is what we did on Saturday, and it was one of the best routes I've ever riden! So many twisties!!!!!!

One of my favourite runs

I’ll start at Crianlarich, continue on the A82 you could stop off at the “green welly” always loads of bikes there,there is a really good fish and chip shop just before the green welly I would recommend eating there rather than at the green wellie..it’s overpriced head on towards oban on the A85 ..no point in me saying it’s a cracking road because the whole route is cracking! Oban is a nice town and well worth stopping off for a while,there are lockers at the harbour where they sell tickets for the ferry over to Mull ,you can put your helmet and leathers in for about a quid,and that would leave you free to see the town,from Oban you would be on the A816 to Lochgilhead,nice place to stop again,you would now be on the A83 That takes you to Inverarey again worth a stop,the next bit takes you over “the rest and be thankful” to Tarbet near the top of Loch Lomond then it’s a short run back to Crianlarich

 

This one is not really a run but i think it's got to be one of my all time favourite roads.

I have quite a few Favourite roads but this one must be up there with the best of them

Most folk will know what a cracking road the A82 is but once you reach Spean Bridge (just north of Fort William) instead of carrying on the A82 take a little detour (the roads only 35 miles each way) and you will find a fantastic road the A86 that will take you to Dalwhinnie,I’ve done it umpteen times from both directions and I always end up with a smile on my face..from the Spean bridge side it doesn’t start off anything special but give it a few miles and long sweeping corners will beckon and the road surface is excellent, about half way along you will be going up the side of Loch Laggan and the corners start to tighten up, not too much though. If anyone watched Monarch of the glen you can see the big house that they used in filming, it sits down near the end of the loch..you might have to stop to see it though…and believe me when you’re on that road you won’t want to stop! If your’e doing it from the other end end you turn off the A9 and drive through Dalwhinnie that way you start off with the twistier stuff first before you hit the sweeping corners,I tried counting the corners once but lost count! During the week is the best time to do it as it’s never busy

 

i remember one time i thought instead of going up the side of loch lomond I'd see what like the road was going up by Helensburgh and Faslane up to Arrochar..don't think i'll be doing that road again in a hurry!.there are so many good routes on the west it was difficult to decide on one.I tried to put the full size maps up but it would only let me put up the thumbnails for some reason

Just before Lochgilphead, turn off and head towards Tayvallich, great wee cafe that sells really nice soup. Roads a bit of a pain to get, but well worth it
