I’ve got an M900 for the winter but TBH wet roads take all the fun out of it for me, might venture out I suppose, mainly use the M900 for salt season! Here it is after 2 winters, who said Dukes are fragile!
Trouble is that all my bikes (5) would have to be in nice condition, an ocd as far as that goes, so my hack would have to be made from stainless steel.
I'm hugely jealous of your lathe. I had to sell my Willson lathe and all the tooling for an absolute pittance when I closed my silkscreen company. Mind you, because I had a knurling tool I'd quite happily turn a bit of bar and knurl it just for the fun of knurling a bit of ali rod. Perhaps it's best I don't have a lathe anymore
I work in a toolroom so a bit spoilt there. I have access to cnc to make parts. The home lathe is for emergency work, otherwise I work parts at work.
Trouble is that all the bikes are in the high tax bracket, gets expensive. But I have 1 which now when finished is tax and mot exempt
Yes, true, 2 of mine are now classed Historic (below) which helps, still getting on for £400 a year in tax for the others though, and sadly I’ll be history before they are old enough to qualify!
Then there's the mx5 £500 odd a year plus servicing and mot. Getting too pricey, will have to lighten the load soon. Nice bikes by the way.
yes, I’ll have to be brave, I use the Honda 750 SOHC above the least, but I put a fair bit of effort into building it, and when I do ride it I love it, my 900ss doesn’t come out often, but again it’s a joy to ride, maybe I’ll just extend the garage Anyway I’m out and I’ve been rewarded with dry roads!
That's why you spend a grand on a winter hack my shiny ones don't come out to play unless it's blue skies all day
