Things I Hate About Forums

I belong to a whole bunch of forums, Facebook groups and the like and can say this one is the most enjoyable by a long way.

Sure it has it's knob heads, smart arses, retired English teachers who fixate and seek pleasure in demonstrating how thick you are and how superior they are with the English language, the occasional aggressive, the easily offended and general moany old bastard.

In balance it also has support, compassion, humour, Americans to laugh at, weird tangents, off-topic screwballs and above all a sense of community.

So to all those who have issues, complaints or would rather be part of some dull to the point bunch of nerds you can simply vote with your mouse and do one, for me; I'll just continue to take the p*ss as often as possible, where appropriate of course.

I’ve only been using this forum for a few weeks but so far I’m impressed, seems very good, on other forums I’ve come across some real idiots, the only way I’ve found really effective in dealing with them is just to completely ignore them !, they soon get bored

What's the record on thisyere forum?

A. N. Other forum I use had a resurrect of some 12 years.. The best had to be a thread started by a guy who said he didn't want to use the forum again, and "I'm off". Right enough he didn't come back, but the thread ran for some several thousand posts.

Too much time and not enough to do... Hmm. Strike that, reverse it.

 

I would be cool if, in the future, we saw a thread that was started by a father and then revived by his son when he grew up or even one started by the grandfather and revived generation after generation. Unfortunately though, the world is due to end in between two and three years (depending on traffic conditions and whether weather permits) so it will never happen.

 

Could be before that, if @Duckadiledundee gets his finger on..............

I've not been here long either but I have to say this is the best forum i've found in ages, a good mix of people but all respectful enough to take the piss but not cross the line. Many moons ago i was on a TT one called flying sparks that was brilliant but the owner shut it and went all facebook which was a shame. The atmosphere on here is very remeniscent of that in that there a common interest and then sharing of all things bikes 'n' life. Long may it continue
