Called at mi mates son's ont way home from work last neet, to do him a bit of electrical work. He lives on a large estate in Sheffield. I could just see mi bike through his kitchen window, and kept lookin to make sure it was ok. He thought it was funny, and commented about me being paranoid, as nowt happened like that round there. Looked out a short while later, and could see someone around mi bike, and hear a scooter revving. I ran out of his house, to his surprise. I got to his garden gate, but couldn't pull it open, so vaulted his fence, he was right behind me. The scrotes saw us coming, and jumped on the scooter and mounted t'kerb and across a grass verge, just too far away for me to make a lunge, and got away. They left mi bike layin on it's left side. I was raging, and kicking misen when I realised the gate opened outwards, that's why I couldn't open it in my rush to get to em. Thinkin about it afterwards, it maybe a good job they got away, with what's going on wi mi Grandson, because I would have damaged them, and mi mates son is an ex MMA fighter. They've f*cked mi steering lock up, broke mi left handlebar mirror, scratched left hand engine cover, and some small scratches on mi single seat cover, as mi seat came off, for some reason.

'kin ell, Foxy!! Close thing indeed - good job YOU were on the ball. And what a pity you didn't quite get to catch one!

Good luck with getting it sorted and hope maybe you'll catch sight of the scooter and riders some day soon!

They would have been carrying blades, giving one a shoeing is what they deserved, but taking a blade/shank off some one is not some thing you should try unless you know what your doing even then it's not something I want to have to do again.

Was it chained up Foxy? If not, will you now be persuaded to get substantial chain and lock? What make were the offenders? Hope you get your bike back together soon and with not too much cost.

No, it wasn't,mate. I don't have anywhere to carry one. I have several at home. I keep thinking about buying an alarmed disc lock.

If not wearing top box or panniers, I've taken to wrapping an alarmed chain and lock securely around the frame of the bike so I always have it to hand should I need to use it when I park up somewhere. Will not prevent the determined thief but will put off the chancers for a while in order to give me time to exterminate.

They will get theirs, bank it with their lifestyle. Sadly you'll probably never know it, but take comfort in it.

That is such a shite story. Pleased that the damage was limited and likely a good thing that you did not catch them.

You Brits need to take up baseball. One wallop with a Louisburg slugger is something they won't forget.

Well I do recall hearing somewhere that, despite very few people playing baseball in the UK, baseball bats are big sellers in sports shops. Personally I prefer the good old-fashioned hickory pickaxe handle although a fibreglass shafted demolition hammer is very nice. Only problem is disposing of the bodies although I can recommend moors, peat bogs and deep woods as suitable options.

Drill a half inch hole in the business end of the bat and insert a 1/2" dia. By 2" long piece of tungsten (33% more dense than lead) for extra wallop. Of course DU is 68% more dense than lead for a super DUper wallop. Buts it's harder to buy. Although Iraq my be a good source for cheap used 50 cal. DU chunks.

It makes my blood boil seeing this type of thing. Hopefully karma will sort them out, or your mate will, whichever comes first. Glad the damage isn’t serious Foxy.
