You say “roughly” 80 on the clock? Was that 80 and maybe under or more than 80? Your speedo, by law has to be accurate to + or -10%, and they always read faster than you are travelling, so, at an indicated 80 you could be travelling at around 72/73mph true road speed. The cameras “should” trigger at the speed limit +10%, so on the motorway that would be 77mph. Therefore your indicated 80, true 73(ish) may mean you are ok but as has already been said you’ll have to wait 14days for the dreaded letter to drop through the letterbox.

I kid you not ... And this from an erstwhile doctor? I guess that means we can no longer go "purple with rage", "red with anger", "white with fear", "blue with cold" or "green with envy"? Racial colloquiallisms are, clearly, ruining the structure of a wholly multi-cultural, socially integrated society. I sometimes wonder whether this stuff is actually designed to inspire a hatred of minorities in our society. If so I certainly think it is working. Personally I think that all it does is demonstrate how stupid many of our population (who think they are intelligent) actually are. After a lifetime of occasionally having to seek advice from doctors and nurses on the whole I think you are often as well to consult a witchdoctor or just let nature take it's course as an awful lot of doctors seem to find it hard enough to diagnose which is their arse and which is their elbow.
It’s a crock of shit... a student doctor trying to stir up bollocks... The medical term is not “going blue” or “yellow”... it’s Cyanosis and Jaundice and yes the root of those terms are directly from Cyan (greenish blue color) and Jaune (yellow) is because this colour change happens. When looking for colour changes in any race, you are taught to look at specific areas because that is where it shows best... so the mucous membranes (fingernail beds and inner parts of lips) for cyanosis because the deoxygenated red blood cells darken (arterial blood is brighter red than venous) and the whites of the eyes and heavy “orange” staining of urine for jaundice because that is where the bilirubin that can’t be broken down by the liver can easily be seen. I was taught this 20 years ago and there was no need for any racial tension during its teaching... it’s just a medical truth.
Couldn't agree more that it's a complete crock of shit @DCS222, but this student doctor and, I gather, the University too, appear to be suggesting that the use of these terms is somehow "disenfranchising" and/or demeaning the 20% or so of the population whose skin colour and physiology present different (or no) visible symptomatic characteristics. This 'fact' is what is driving the idea that the term 'going blue' is, therefore, racist - and she actually uses that word in this context. It seems utterly mindless and is twisting medicine to suit a wholly different agenda. I could understand it if there was a clear need to find additional terms to define specific symptomatic characteristics for the black and ethnic minorities so that lay people could be aware of the meaning, but, surely, that's not a reason to define "going blue" as racist?
