Thats the Tiger away now and its replacement picked up. I found the 1050 to be a great bike would do everything I wanted 400 mile days no problem. I hope the new one is just as good.
I thought that was a repair plaster on the panniers! I say that because a friend of mine has on a number of occasions failed to close hisTiger pannier lids properly resulting in him depositing his belongings all over the tarmac (another Scottish reference) the best being across three lanes entering the Dartford Tunnel which resulted in him buying a load of gear when we got into France.
Nice bikes - I had the one before that, I think - the 900 (think it was 885cc). It was the last new bike I bought before the one I pick up tomorrow. 20 years between new bikes - I'm a real pauper. It was the best bike I'd had - until I bought the Fazer 1000 which shaded it. Up to the Tiger, I usually changed bikes a couple of times a year and the longest I'd owned one was two years (one of 4 bikes I bought new since my bike test in '96) but the Tiger stayed for just over 5 years and I only sold it cos I had a numb bum and half of my legs and got terrified every ride - thought it was the end of biking for me. The sweet spot was 90-110mph and it aced the bumpy back roads round here.
