Sorry to hear your news SleepyOwl. Glad to hear you're okay.

Suggest you get your bike checked over professionally for damage. A little scratch you miss here and there would be very expensive to rectify.

Ah crap, SleepyOwl, I’m really sorry to hear about the accident. I hope that you’re OK. As others have said, bikes are much easier to fix than bodies. It’s such a shame and so disappointing to have your new motorcycle messed up right out of the gate. I hope you get it all sorted with insurance and repairs and, most especially, your own personal health and well-being.

Got a new (to me, anyway, can't afford a new one) car today. Obviously the previous owner was a man of taste!

Ahh, Vulpes, your poor un(der)loved cars. :( Cars need love, too, you know. ;) And you can care about your bike AND your cars at the same time. I'm just teasing a bit and I do get it. I didn't particularly car about my cars either--until I got my Mustang. But don't tell my car this secret...my bikes are still my favorite "kids".

When out for a ride to Derbyshire yesterday with some fellow BMW S1000RR owners, 7 of us in total and went around the Peak District, Matlock, Buxton, Ashbourne and around the dales. I managed to cover circa 250 miles

Here are some pics, I'm on the far right in the first pic with the Red bike:

None of that matters Jez cos,
    1. He wears slip-on shoes (he's never learned to tie shoe laces)
    2. His wife makes sure he's always had his horlicks by 4:00pm
    3. He never gets to the bathroom in time anyway.
Ho ho ho and a bottle of JD Honey :D

Haha, couple of the guys were from down your neck of the woods, Hertfordshire. They had made a real effort to get to Derbyshire, do all the riding around there and then get back in the evening. They covered circa 500 miles!! It was most definitely a fun day and some lovely fast sweeping bends which made good riding. It being a Sunday, there was quite a bit of traffic on certain roads but we didn't let it spoil our fun too much :)

That is a long way on a sports bike in a day . I have done it a few years ago but would not fancy it now.The test reviews on these bikes all say they are the most comfortable of the race reps but I guess that is all relative to that style of bike. It’s surprising how quick you lose bike fitness if you don’t ride them, as we all experienced during lock down . Great effort all round .
