Hi All Just wanted to suggest a future get together in France at a place I went to with my friends from the Suzuki Owners Club. Its called the Route 66 Hotel (107 Avenue de la Liberation, Bussiere-Poitevine, France). The place is run by an English guy called Harry who is a great host. The old building is the hotel and the grounds can be used for camping for those interested. Harry does breakfasts and dinners and there's an old barn which is converted to a bar, where occasionally a band will play. We had an absolute hoot there. Super safe and biker friendly (he has a big garage for the bikes). Check it out on Tripadvisor. Just an idea. Nikki
Sounds good. Been down that way quite a lot in the car with the wife. It's a lovely area of France, I think so anyway. I'd certainly be up for a meet down there.
Pete you know me too well! If peeps want to spend money on fancy do-dads well that's their choice, or they could go about 60mls east further east and stay at "Dave's super fabulous biker campsite" for free !!!!!!! We have loads of facilities such as blue skies, permanent sunshine, fantastic roads, great bars, 3 acres of camping ground.
If you can promise good warm weather and a decent loo close by, I may be tempted. Dave your place sounds nice !! Nikki
Hi Nikki, it's not really a campsite mate, it's a field where my wife's horse lives, but he's very friendly and will be in a separate area. A decent loo nearby. Well in France the blokes find the nearest hedge and we have PLENTY of those ? Otherwise it'll be making yourself comfortable at breakfast, coffee, lunch, coffee and dinner breaks in one of the bars within a kilometre of the field.
Not having the same plumbing as you guys, I don't think I want to crouch down in or near a hedge, not at my age anyway, I might not be able to get up again Nikki
