Just finished bolting in the new to me replacement motor for my 2000 Sprint RS. Not grey like the original but I really don't mind the black...now for the rest of the job! Woot!

At this point, i'd turn the motor over by hand to test and probably do the valve clearances now so you know its good!!!!
    Good job!!

Sorry all I was away for a bit! I am back now and back at the project. No its a used engine. Its quite clean and I did hear it run before I bought it. It has about 30k on it which is almost the same as my bike originally had. Only difference is this motor is black and the other was silver.

I do have an issue though. I hate to admit this but I didnt mark these connections. I can't for the life of me recall what they go to. Don't be too harsh lol. Anyone recall?

The captured lug (big) lead probably goes there. That is on the alternator mounting. I have not seen the twin connector, but it might be easier to find what is left and choose from there.

Thanks buddy. Yeah based on the length there is only so much to choose from. I had everything else marked. Part of the issue is the bike isn't back together yet so it might belong to something I have put back on yet lol. I wasn't sure about the one you pictured because the starter and alternator are wired. Guess I didn't think about it being a ground.

Get yourself a wiring diagram and check the wiring colours. At least you’ll be sure of the right connections.
Be aware that there are a couple of connectors that are the same (apart from wiring colour) and can refit on the wrong socket (air temp and coolant temp sensors)

It most definitely is not the alternator two pin. I do not have an aux port. Is that a difference between an RS and an ST? I swear I recall this bugger being a pain to get off before I removed something...I should not have taken a vacation during this project! Are there only two two pins on this bike in this area?

Yeah I am working on that. It does look like based on the diagram it being the aux port is correct...purple and black wires. But I didnt remove an aux port. Perhaps thays why I didn't mark it. But I thought I recalled in being a pain in the arse to get off of something.

Will do. Based on diagrams and pics it doe appear to be an aux socket connector. Perhaps not being connected to anything is the reason there is so much junk in the connection
