The TriumphRat forum is just so large. I find it very slow. A few members actually come across as quite dismissive of people and condescending. I tend to use the search function because of that. To me it's a good forum to use as a resource for information but a lot of the regulars in there leave a lot to be desired imv. That's sounds quite negative but it does have some positives. Just not enough for me to use it in any other way.
I've had good experience on TriumphRat, and had some useful help from the guys on there. Unfortunately the recent hack which caused all of the site's passwords to be cancelled has stopped me getting on it as the pop-up window telling me to change password won't close so i can't get to the actual 'change password window'….
There are some good guys, but the ones I've noticed are the negative ones. Sad to say. So I tend to use the search rather than post in there
They sure are .Like I said, the steamer section know their stuff and many things are common with my bike. Hope the site proves useful,well maybe not coz we dont want any problems with our bikes do we??? lol
Did see Triumph rat when looking to sign up for a forum but opted for this madhouse Like being here for the banter and info etc..... Oh and especially when Dozers Dad hands out the crayons
Hooked up with the Rat a few years ago, visited a couple of times and as nowt was happening didn't bother again. Dave.
T-RAT used to pretty good but then it basically ended around 2018-19 to add value. It is has a lot of good historic tech for the aircooled bikes however. Most of the intelligent contributors vacated in 2013-14-15 timeframe. I kept my account there to check the classifieds, and now that section sucks. What killed it was their move to a new host platform which is not intuitive and hard to navigate.
I was a user , several years ago , then found this forum . I don't use triumph rat much anymore , as others here have said , to dull, to slow , but sometimes I go back to check things out , memory isn't what she was , so I recheck to get it right !
I signed up there but found that there are some real rude and obnoxious know it all's there with a bad superiority complex...even told one of the main offender i would likely offer him outside if he tried to speak to me like that in person, and i am pretty placid and tolerant....so needless to say not somewhere i bother to visit any more.....in fact a total contrast to this forum...so glad i ended up here.
I had a similar experience @Tricky-Dicky and from your description I suspect we may be talking about the same person I basically got told that I didn’t have a clue what I was talking about as I’d only been there 5 minutes, and that was by one of the mods. Obnoxious, smart arsed pr@ck. He’s a clever, knowledgeable guy but is not at all suited to be a moderator with the attitude he has. Terribly egotistical and awful people skills
