Up at 5.30 this morning and watched as sunshine gradually disappeared to be replaced by cloud as the morning got greyer and greyer...
Called Bill Smiths at 9 - it's Sunday - not open till 10!
In the end I made it - just!
By the time we'd chosen which plate (with GB or without GB) and paid a lot of money of course I was finally on my way - with a bit of a wobble admittedly  - but what the hell! Made it home just before the rain started.
My daughter dropped me off and followed me home but disappeared on the way - the reason became clear when I got home - no number plate! A quick call and she was back down to Bill Smiths where Dave (the little one in the last pic!) quickly replaced the 'run over' plate with a shiny new one. (My fault - I did insist on stick on, not bolts)
Anyway - a wipe with some white spirit and new sticky pads and hopefully sorted.

It was actually my 8 year old - as soon as he realized 'our' bike was going to be yellow!
Overheard on the school run... "Me and my Dad are getting a motorbike"! :upyeah:

Just a thought - maybe I shouldn't be assuming we've all seen the Transformers movie....

I suppose I'm seeing it from the other side Chrispy - really enjoying my lads excitement at getting the bike - and the memories he'll have of his Dad and bikes many years down the line.
My first bike was nearly a Royal Enfield - I was still a learner so limited to 250cc though and it was a 350 Bullett - looked the same as a 250 to me though so I was so tempted - and at £25 I could nearly afford it! In the end I settled for my mates DMW 197 for £12...

    Thanks Guys
Nice to hear some comments in favour of the colour - needless to say I love it but I have seen a few derogatory remarks in the past...
