Nah, it’s my wife’s birthday and it’s a present to her from a mate... just helping quaff it!!! (I will confess to enjoying some expensive wines, but it means you buy one bottle instead of 6)
Happy National Martini Day! Technically this is an "Astoria". I found the recipe in a classic cocktail book. But in reality it's a gin martini with some orange bitters and an orange peel twist. Delicious! I only had one out of respect for @dilligaf's "Dry June". Only 11 more days to go, dilli!
Son got me a bottle of Lustao Vermut! He thought it was red wine but it is a fortified Vermouth, remember seeing Vermouth on the kitchen table at parties when I was nipper but not since!! thought it might be a bit like Buckie (the connoissieurs aperitif in Glasgow). But it is actually quite nice, strange on the nose, but tastes kind of nice. Although I dont think I will be looking to find another
Funny how the stuff we drank as kids under the railway bridge and in parks comes back to remind us who we are/were? I was in between jobs delibering chinese takeaway(before the bat meat days) and one day looked at their gantry and they had a bottle of Old England sat right up front as if it was Chateau de Neuf I nearly wet myself!!
On the brew dog variety pack and a bottle of Jack! I might not make sense later and I’m playing my “drunken knobhead” card now for later actions! (Any previous knobheadery today is just who I am and no alcohol was to blame)
Gonna have to be alcohol free for a few more days yet mate It’s not all bad news though I’m suffering from really bad and painful shoulders BUT.... I’m off me tit’s on Tramadol at the moment It’s a reet good buzz Will ditch the medicine and pain killers on Friday and I’ve got IPA and Jack Daniels all ready and waiting
Best wishes on your recovery Dilli, pain is a bastard . I’ve only had Tramadol once but it was great to break the pain issues I was having and the body started recovery soon after.
Bummer, Dilli. But glad the IPA and JD are at the ready. And you'll be building up even more anticipation over the the next few days. In the meantime, enjoy that Tramadol. And I hope your shoulders feel much better soon!
