I took my 1 year old speed twin in for its annual service normally the dealer would give it a wash as a non chargable part of the service, It wasn’t until I got home I realised it hadn’t been washed I emailed the dealer and this is there reply Good evening , yes we would normally have conducted a service wash on your bike however we have only brought back minimal staff as you may have noticed when you popped in today therefore it's currently impossible for us to wash bikes at the moment, Service washes are not a chargeable part of the service when we do it, it's just something we have always tried to do to separate us from other dealers. I apologise as I should have mentioned it today when you pick your bike up for which I'm sorry that's why admitted to do this. I think I should have been told when I booked it in or when I dropped the bike off what do you all think ?
To be honest I'd rather wash my own bike. I've always understood that washing cars/bikes during service is complimentary and at their discretion, so I wouldn't be bothered in the slightest
No big deal really. Its complimentary so I don’t really think they need to tell you? Exceptional times mean things are not always possible.
Frankly it was a blessing in disguise. You just save yourself from swirl marks in the clearcoat from the rag they leave in the never changed wash bucket that their porter loves to use.
Wash the bike yourself you lazy sod and stop twisting Not a chance I'd let them wash mine, they're hardly going to have the same attention to detail as I do and I bet they don't throw the drying towel away if they dropped it on the floor covered in grit.
My vehicles only occasionally get washed after a service and, while it's a nice touch and theoretically "free", I'd rather they left it dirty and charged me less
I think they did right and there's no reason to get upset about not getting something that you don't pay for in the first place Having said that my disappointment would be that the bike wouldn't get its annual clean
Not something I would have worried about as it's complimentary. My dealer always washes my bike when it's serviced but I wouldn't care if it didn't happen.
what do i think. i think your moaning about something and nothing if your that bothered just wash it your self
I think that they are being totally reasonable and fair tbh. If you had have asked and they had said no, would you have been happy then or have walked away unhappy? The are apologising with a fair reason imo. I've just been to webbs (in peterborough) to get the shift assist switched on (£40 as i found it for 210 online and fitted it myself) and they were short staffed and couldn't wash bikes. No worries.
I think that they deserve a bit of a break, they are clearly trying to do their best with lower than usual staff levels and the wash is complimentary like you said. I don't really understand what you achieved by sending them what was probably a bit of a shitty email?
for your information this is my email Hi just wondered should my service have included a wash of the bike if you think that is shitty tough
Bob1 I agree with everything and everyone usually then I don't have to explain my reasons. Regards Joe.
Dozers Dad You just beat me to that answer. You know me to well. Going to have to change my ways. Funny Tracy always tells me can't you ever disagree with your mates. Regards Joe.
And I didn't read the dipstick bit but you are probably right again. That used to be my password at work about two years ago. And you really do know me to well. Just glad you are my hero. Regards Joe.
