Hopefully this won’t take me too long As I have no intention of signing up for the Triumph app and trying all that blue tooth malarkey for navigating I dug out my phone holder that I occasionally used on NUDGER The clamp for it is big enough to go round the bars on CERBERUS But the only straight bit of the bar which would be ideal is where the wiring disappears into the handle bar So I’m gonna make a small plate which will mount on the two switchgear bolts Using the top hat spacers from the first picture I found some suitable bolts that just needed shortening a bit This way nothing touches anywhere and is easily reversed back to standard
Bloody hell mate, you've just told us what it is in the first post! I refuse to believe this is actually @dilligaf !
That's cos lockdown is easing, and his way's are wearing thin Carry on the good work @dilligaf and of couse the speed of production,
Nah you’re alright mate I’ll stick with what I know Besides it seems like every week someone starts a thread about problems they’re having with this wizardry kinda stuff Hardly ever use my phone as a sat nav and when I do I only need to look at it I don’t need it talking in my ear and wouldn’t want to talk on the phone while I’m riding
Well I think I know what series 7s gunna be Recon it's got something to do with his clocks Nothing beats his new garage door, that was a complete winner
Gotta cut a hole in the plate so this passes through and can be bolted in place marked out and used my hole cutter to start off with now the holes are done I can pass a junior hacksaw blade through and cut the majority of it out Doing it this way means that I can keep the original form of the ultimate add ons phone mount and it can be re used at a future date
I reckon that @dilligaf is real recycle warrior deep down. His use of scrap lying around his garage is amazing and he is doing his bit to save our planet
Some filing to be done Happy so far Drill some bolt holes and it should be good for the phone mount to attach Fits like a glove Need to mark out for the bike mounting bolts and probably more cutting so that nothing touches the bike
So I’m gonna have to slim down the mounting plate where it fixes to the bike This is the final shape Lots of filing and sanding to get it ready for paint My new paint booth setup in the front garden Allowing me to watch the paint dry while I enjoy a well earned mug of coffee
All done The first two pictures are what I will just leave on CERBERUS When I’m sitting on the bike the angle means it’s hardly noticeable and blends in nicely With the phone holder mounted not looking forward to parts Six and seven These two are gonna be big projects with lots of trial and error thrown in Probably be lots of swearing
I think part seven will be the tow bar but I’ve not convinced myself that it’s doable Doesn’t mean I’m not gonna try though
You have the added bonus of being able to use your phone as a Go-Pro (if you have enough memory) the way it's mounted.
You're doing fine work on Cerberus Dilli, Triumph must be gutted they haven't got your money that you've saved. I must agree with Rspete, I seem to have missed, " Something for Cerberus part 5 "
